The food was delicious, although lacking an English menu which would make the experience much more pleasant. Pictures can be found on the web and you could show it to the staff to place the order. Eat and go kind of dining.

We chose this place as it was close to our hotel, Luk Kwok and after the best part of a day spent travelling, we wanted somewhere quick and simple. We had a quick look round the surrounding area along Jaffe Road and on O’Brien and decided the steamed dumplings recommended on Trip Advisor in Shanghai 3.6.9 were worth a try.... More

Walked passed this restaurant on my previous trip but never had a chance to check it out. Finally had time this trip to try the food. No regrets! The food was delicious. Ordered the shredded chicken noodles, xiao long bao and pork chop noodles to share with a friend. The shredded chicken noodles was divine with a delicious peanut sauce.... More

Good old fashioned food. Same old decor and service. Down to earth tong bao and fried noodles. Good value for money even after all these years.

First night dinner in Hong Kong, we settled down for Shanghainese cuisine. Never know that Shanghainese food are so good and tasty that can be found here in this simple restaurant. We had a great time dining and mingled with other customers as we have a shared table.

It is always difficult to order on the menu with around 300 choices especially if you are not completely familiar with the ethnic chinese cuisine. Now we failed and received countless dishes that more seem to be of interest to the texture than taste. Several of the dishes offered the starch watery sauces. No sadness of it, the staff is... Unforgettable culinary experience in this friendly family-owned restaurant! Highly recommend xiao long bao, dandan noodles, dumpling with spicy sauce, spicy garlic chicken, braised chicken noodle soup...etc.

Very friendly reception at this simple, traditional restaurant with a great selection of Cantonese food. Jasmine tea never runs out. Mix of local and foreign customers, good authentic food at reasonable prices. You won't be disappointed.

really good dumplings, served steamed on cabbage leaves, with good vinegar and ginger julienne. A good, relatively cheap place for lunch.

Returned to this gem of a place again as it was great on my 2012 and 2014 visits to Hong Kong. Good, cheap but very authentic and tasty food. Would recommend this place. Sometimes you have to share a round table with other diners who will be local, as there aren't many tourists here generally.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
