Not the best egg tart I had in Hong Kong but this is definitely the most popular place and not to be missed. There is more than one location but the Central location is easy to find if you are by the mid level escalators.

Highly popular with the Mainland China and Korean tourist and well deserving since their pastries are so good. Great egg tarts and sugar puffs. Expect line ups all the time but service is very fast so the wait is never long.

This is my to-go place for egg tart. Every time travel to HongKong, I have to buy at least a dozen for my mum. Best egg tart I've ever had! One tip, no matter how many you've bought, always make sure to try one when it is still warm :)

Really yummy egg tarts, one of the best that I have ever eaten. About HKD 100 for a dozen of them only.

The tarts were nothing special and the pastry wasn't that crumbly and the filling was not nice. Really disappointed as I had heard such good things about their egg tarts.

I'm not sure I'd recommend this as a destination by itself, but it is an easy side-trip from the escalator on the way to Man Mo Temple. Egg custard was delicious, reminiscent of childhood treats in England and not something I find in the U.S.

Little bites of buttery goodness and fresh from the oven. Definitely worth the short walk from IFC mall - a definite must!

They were fresh out of the oven but I think expansion has ruined the taste. Pastry was flat and filling wasn't authentic. Like it has been made in a central kitchen somewhere and delivered to shop. I rarely give anything a poor review but this gets my thumbs down. Won't be back in a hurry. If you need a baseline... More

The best egg tarts I had in my life! You can go in expecting to have just one, but I bet you won't have just one. It's sooo good!

We had expected a local cha chan teng and it turns out to be a bakery. Ordered their tarts and they were nice and warm. The crust was nice, different from Honolulu's which was flaky. Nice to try if you are around the area but not a detour.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
