Realised that I hadn't written a review about this restaurant despite having been on several occasions and loving it every time. Outdoor dining at DB Plaza just a minute's walk from the ferry. Numerous beers and wines available and a menu with a great variety...of cuisine. Sitting there, I almost feel that if I dreamt for just a few seconds my mind would be sitting at a seaside cafe in France or Italy. For starters, the goats cheese spring rolls are delicious. Not soggy, not overly fried, just perfect. Not sure what the sauce was with them but it really did the trick and made them taste delicious. Likewise the Gambas Pil Pil. On this occasion we had battered fish n chips, frutti di mare and a steak and chips. All were cooked to perfection. No exceptions. The fish they use is barrumndi. Maybe not the haddock or cod that I'm more used to, but it came out very hot and in a batter that was cooked just right. Not too crispy and overcooked and not soggy either. The tartar sauce was really nice and I suspect home made or from a more expensive brand. It certainly wasn't the usual mush. Chips were nice, again they came out hot and neither soggy nor overdone. The peas with them were nicely cooked (with onion?). On previous occasions I have ordered the Tunisian lamb as well as the lamb in red wine and on both occasions, I also thought the dishes were cooked to a very high standard. The service at the restaurant was very good despite it being a very busy day. I could see that they were packed out and people kept arriving and having to wait and yet the staff kept their cool. They were attentive but not overly so, clearly knew the menu and were polite yet not 'stand off-ish'. The venue is clean Would I return? 100% yes. It's an excellent, friendly restaurant with great food. The downside? Well there really isn't any, although I wish their prices were a bit cheaper. Don't take that the wrong way; as I suppose the old thing about getting what you pay for is appropriate here. It can however be very busy and unfortunately there were people smoking cigarettes close to us which put me off. I'm not anti-smoking. There are venues where it doesn't bother me but a family restaurant is not a place where it should be allowed. If it wasn't for the smoke, I would have given this restaurant five stars. Otherwise, fantastic.More

One of the best restuarants in DB (unfortunately not much competition!). The service is always attentive and friendly and the food excellent. The children's menu is also great and unlike most places they include fresh veggies!

We live in Discovery Bay and have been to 22 North on several occasions, we started with several selections from the Tapas section of the menu, in hindsight we should have chosen more as they were delicious, my son had steak with chips and my...mother in law grilled fish and chips, you can`t go wrong with those. My wife had mushroom risotto, she didn`t eat it as it had too many onions and it just overpowered the dish. I had the Teriyaki Cod with wild rice and grilled vegetables, the fish didn`t have much flavour and neither did the rice, the grilled vegetables consisted of courgettes and Aubergines which are also dull and bland on their own, I had two, small and cold cherry tomatoes and a small whole pepper. The staff were pleasant and friendly, however when they removed the plates they didn`t ask if everything was OK with the risotto they just asked if my wife had finished, I would expect that if someone hasn`t eaten the majority of the food, there might be an issue. I have lived here for over twelve years, I don`t think the menu has changed for several years, it is a shame because 22 North could have a superb reputation, but I get the feeling that as they have a "captive" clientele they don`t have to try too hard so they don`t.More

While in Discovery Bay, we had dinner with a group of friends. The chef is Belgian and therefore food should be good and it was...the grilled vegetable was served on top of bulgur which made it too heavy.... I had the beef tartare. Belgian way,...the one I prefer...fries were good too. Wine was somehow expensive as compare to the food but discovery bay in general is not cheap....More

Enjoy the beer and the al fresco environment. Service sucks. Big time. It’s so difficult to grab the attention of the maximum 2 or 3 staff who seem to Be just running in circles. Food options hasn’t changed in a while. Average to slightly above...average. But the beers and the ambience is totally worth it. Yes, even In hkg summers.More

We were really hoping this would be a great meal being a local restaurant. The meals are so expensive ($200 each give or take - pork chops $230!) and what you get certainly doesn’t reflect the price. We both felt the same. Having said that,...it’s a lovely setting for drinks and they do a great happy hour with friendly staff. We wouldn’t eat there again, you can get better for less at Pizza Express.....More

We been there 3 times on the last 30 days and we try different meals, but quality of ingredients is getting down. Carpaccio probably was frozen cuz was covered by defrost water. Salad can feel that isn’t fresh ,ravioli covered by tomato sauce and carbonara...over cooked!!! Cheers !More
