My wife wanted Authentic Chinese, so we chose the Loong Yuen Cantonese Restaurant. Very nicely decorated and comfortable. My wife choose a selection that said it was Fish and Goose, so I said that sounded good. A strange dish arrived, the only thing I recognized was bokchoy at one side of the dish. Thinly sliced white meat and some bones... More

The dim sum is alright, prices a bit on the high end. But the service is excellent and restaurant is spacious. A great place to bring family and friends.

Didn't book a table as I just arrived in Hong Kong but the restaurant staff did their best to get one for 5 of us. The ambiance and decor is very nice and my son loves the food, especially the fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Staff attentiveness also very good. Prices are a bit high given that is... More

I come to this restaurant quite often and think that the rating of this Chinese restaurant is too low here on Tripadvisor. Hence would like to give it a push. Firs of all, the venue of this restaurant is practically above the TST MTR station. It is one minute's walk from at least two of the TST MTR exits. The... More

This is restaurant's food is unpretentious, deliciously cooked and well served. We ordered about 10 dishes and each one was an enjoyable experience. The service is attentive and efficient.

Had a great meal here with some colleagues. Crispy duck was perfect, followed by an assortment of favourites, crab, battered prawn, steamed broccoli and pork with lettuce. Chicken and crabmeat soup was excellent- although be prepared for the glutinous texture if you aren't used to it... an amazing red bean broth for pudding, with the sweetest black sesame dumplings. Braised Bird Net's Soup with Minced Chicken and Crab Meat Steamed Prawn with Egg White and Chinese Wine Baked Rice with Assorted... This restaurant is situated in Holiday Inn Golden Miles. Should be a well established restaurant situated within this hotel maybe more than two decades. This is the first time I try this Chinese restaurant. The decoration is considered quite good, before I walked in, it looked quite presentable. Once I sat in, right away problems came. Just like walking into... More

Famished, we asked a local shop owner where he would go for lunch he he pointed us to this establishment for Tim Sum! Whilst we have had the pleasure of having some of the most celebrated Tim Sum in HK, from Tim Ho Wah to Luk Ye to Four Seasons & Intercontinental, the quality of Tim Sum here surprises us!... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
