This was my favourite place to begin a night or have a few afternoon beers, or even to get a late breakfast a few years ago. Still a favourite and a great place for a relaxing drink watching the world go by.

Great little place in the very heart of soho. Outdoors, very rustic but a firm favourite amongst HK expats. Right at the junction of Elgin, Staunton and Peel Streets, this bar allows you a perspective of all streets, useful for picking a local eatery later in the evening or as a place for a drink post dinner.

A popular street bar and this corner is at the centre of things. This corner is where all the bars spill onto the street all packed with the hubbub of a good time and relaxing after the week. A constant stream of taxis dropping people off, there are lots of other bars in this area. Typical prices of 70 HKD... More

Come to this tiny open place to experience the other side of HK. The beer here is expensive (don't even think about Blue Girl for 20 HKD a bottle like in NT street eateries) but you can sit, relax, talk to your travel mates and observe people sitting in front of the pub on the opposite side of the street.... The type of place you come for one drink and then friends walk past and you end up staying for hours. Great bar. Friendly vibe, happy staff and good value drinks.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
