We were taken by our friends who live in Hong Kong and it was a highlight of our holiday. Great food and lots of different and tasty dishes to sample and something we would never have been able to achieve on our own. We over-ordered and so the bill at £190 for four was understandable. If you weren't local however... More

About HK$300+/person & this budget is good enough to go home feeling stuffed. The "local beef" is value for money if you plan to have A LOT of beef. The tomato broth base is great with noodles at the end especially after some seafood. Quality raw ingredients, good portion, private rooms are available with TV & the menu/service are foreigner-friendly.

Honestly I enjoyed the food and the service was good and accommodating. We aren't Chinese and cannot speak mandarin/Cantonese. However the waiter tried his best to communicate with us in english/body language. However I got a shock when we got the bill. I feel like the bill might have been wrong but we wouldn't know cos it's all in Chinese.... More

If you're looking for a hot pot that's not going to kill the bank, this is a good place. Basic hot pots are around 90hkd and add 10 more to add another soup. Meats and seafood are around the same price per dish and veggies and other hot pot goodies are around 50hkd per dish. It gets cheaper, the more... More

Big thanks to the people in Ying Kee. This was a fantastic experience, and not the least due to the welcoming staff. I stumbled in here by accident, although as said not easy to find. The food is great traditional hot pot for good price. I even had a chat with some regulars on the other tables. Very warm and... More

Great selection of veges, meat and noodles, everything is super fresh! On arrival, you get a selection of condiments to make your own sauce which is really fun to see what everyone around you makes. Recommend cracking a raw egg for extra taste. The soups available are delicious without being overbearing - Sichuan soup is amazingly good!

Their signature meatballs especially the pork balls are very fresh, made from real pork meat instead of processed meat. We ordered the squid paste which comes with a little bamboo spatula to spoon the paste into the pot to cook, tasted great. But our favorite and credits are to their pork balls, beef balls and fish balls. We also ordered... More

I've never had Chinese hot pot before and I can now say that it is one of the best foods I've ever had! You can choose whatever you want to eat, it's healthy and fun! This restaurant is located in causeway bay in a very lively neighborhood.... Highly highly recommended:-)

This place is just great, but a warning is necessary. You can't find the place if you really look for it. There are no signs, no indications, just a lift, where you have to get out at the right floor. The service is just lovely although the level of English is limited. We ordered the Schezuan stock and it was... More

Just found this place by chance. They were very helpful in choosing the selected foods to go into the hot pot. Was very popular. Great first time hot pot experience.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
