There is a reason why this place is one of the top rated restaurants in Hong Kong. There are many good restaurants in Hong Kong. Some of them cost an arm and a leg. If you are in Hong Kong on a budget and want to try some of the local specialties such as roasted meat then this place is... More

Chanced upon this joint and saw the many accolades it received. Apparently it is listed in the Michelin guide 2013. We ordered half a roast goose and a mixed order of roast pork and char siew (honey bbq pork). The roast goose exceeded our expectations. It was very well spiced and seasoned. What made it different is that even the... More

Stumbled on this cafe as we were walking between Causeway Bay and Wanchai, feeling peckish and considering our options. With roasted duck and chicken and pork hanging in the window, like most local joints it's a little bit daunting on the outside but a pleasant Cantonese welcome and a menu with pictures and English descriptions made the difference between eating... We were a family of 12 (7 kids!) & the staff easily accomodated us. Food is really good - had noodles, yang chow (kids' fave) & veg. Staff speak & understand english well enough. Good service but utensils could do with some upgrade.

2 of us were seated at table for 4 at lunch By waiter. Ordered, and then spotted table for 2 free next to us. To provide more space we checked with cashier if ok to move and she confirmed. As waiter walked by we told him we had moved and he replied with a torrent of abuse!! Decided that not... More

I would say the roasted goose and char siew is good but not fall under very good rating. The goose taste and texture much like roast duck back home. I don't find any wow factor. The char siew is soft and tasty. The wanton (dumpling)soup not bad, the wanton is big with prawn. There is another Micheilin 1 star roast goose... More

Been here now at least 5 times. Food is simply great and affordable. The waiters are mostly old chinese guys - real characters. Mr. Lao can pretty funny, if he is having a good day. Highly recommend the roasted pork. Beers are also kind of cheap for HK standards. Get some grub and beers before you head out to the... More

After seeing other reviews on TripAdvisor thought we would give this place a try for dinner and I'm really glad we did. The service was good, we were possibly lucky that it wasn't very busy. The food came very quickly and was delicious. I had the braised beef with rice and the beef melted in my mouth. My husband and... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
