Lunch@ this Southeast Asian cuisine in Tai Hang, I wanna eat curry>.< Although the restaurant offers a discounted lunch menu (there is a student discount as well🤩), let me order something more mouth watering from the main menu✌🏻. 🍴 Roti Meat Floss (HKD58) First of...all, if you eat Southeast Asian dishes, you cannot miss a Roti. A Roti is crispy and aromatic, plus an extra texture from the meat floss. It is grilled till the crispiness best for dipping the delicious curry. 🍴 Curry Beef (HKD108) + Bread (HKD30) The picture of the bread bowl is so tempting, the middle was hollowed and curry beef was added. Curry has a heavier proportion of coconut milk, it tastes intense and mild so everyone enjoys the curry flavor, the beef is cooked soft, so does the other ingredients : Eggplant, potatoes are fried in advance, which makes the whole dish more tasty. 🍴 Don’t miss the bread bowl which is freshly baked and crispy inside and out. The crispiness was kept even it has placed on our table for a while (cus u know some turns chewy when cooled) . 🍴 Bak Kut Teh Soup (HKD38) The fragrance from the herbs is quite aromatic, obviously contributed by a combination of many authentic ingredients.More

My wife and I just had dinner here on a friend's recommendation and must say that we found the food rather disappointing. We ordered the boneless Hainan chicken rice to start. While the meat was tender, it was flavourless, and needed some sesame oil. There...were no cucumber or tomato slices and the worst thing was the chilli, which was more the Thai sweet chilli style rather than the spicy pounded or blended chilli sauce that usually accompanies the dish. Being named bak kut King, we were anticipating something that was excellent. We ordered the small bowl, which the server said was enough for two people. The bowl that arrived was small, and the soup was lukewarm. While the herbal taste was present, it was very weak. The dish came with a small dish of crullers and soy sauce with minced garlic. The meat was soft, but there were too few pieces. We had to order a bowl of white rice as that did not come with the soup. Ironically, my wife said she most enjoyed the plum and 7-Up drink, which was refreshing but which also cost $40 before tax. They were crowded, and reservations seem to be needed, especially on weekends for dinner. I liked the decor, with the mosaic tiles on the floor and the wooden shutters along the windows.More

The bak kut teh was good but found the portions for fish rather small, especially given the final price tag of $400 plus. We ordered bak kut teh, platter and stingray fish. Recommend you try the bak kut teh but we did find the platter...and fish overpriced. However the prices in that neighbourhood is expensive. Summary for us is the bak kut teh was well worth paying for but you could find something better for the same price at other locations for other food. I would have rated bak kut teh four stars. Service is good and staff is friendly. It is not a big place. We felt the seats were placed too close to other couples and we could hear each other talking.More

We came here for the famous Bak Kuk Tah - the Malaysian Penang style. The food was supposed to be authentic as malaysian but the fried kuay tao was taste of soya sauce rather than the sweet soya sauce like what they used in South...East Asia. The blood clams which is the same as the one we had in Singapore but it was not cooked to our specification (ie: 100% but rather a 50% cooked). The sauces again wasn't very nice. Overall, three dishes costs us about HKD400 and they take cash only. The table was not quite clean that I had to put some tissue underneath my arm as it was a bit sticky and the toilet was quite small. They charged a service of 10% on top of the bill too. Most strangely is that they were playing french songs when we were there... so... it was certainly a very weird experience of eating Malaysian cuisine with Hong Konger staffs and then... with French music.... just really puts us off... not sure if we would go back again... its just a strange place...More
