When I first went in, the cafe looks promising with all the books and decors. Just the kind of cafe where I will be spending my time reading. But when I asked for a menu, I got a feeling that the waiter was less interested in serving me. Anyway, I brushed that aside and had a seat and relax with... More

This place (a Classic bookplace people say ??) has a lot of potential ! Great atmosphere , Independent film screening and literature evenings - all set in what has clearly been a first-mover bookie place some years ago ... Sadly - terrible food(worst i had In Beijing for the past 5 years) ruined the visit! Getting this place back to... More

Initially the place looked promising at first glance however the service was shocking and I can truely say that from living here for the past year. My friend was greated with a grunt when she asked politely if they offered food and was pointed to the menus over on the bar (meanwhile group of staff resume talking). We ordered 2... More

I found The Bookworm to be a great place to hangout and eat good western food. The new chef in the kitchen is doing wonders and has made the Bookworm the place to be on this side of Beijing. I frequented The Bookworm while I was in Beijing and found it to be a good place to get away from... More

Bookworm is the place in Beijing if you want to have a different, non-Beijing experience. Its great place to chill out around books or just to meet friends for coffee. They also serve food in the library and i was looking forward to it. I ordered Burger, and it was decent. Nothing special and there could be more meat. Actually,... More

Ok ok, Beijing has amazing places all around, but sometimes you need the comfy feeling of a coffee place that is REAL and not just another Starbucks etc... Bookwoorm has survived long enough in Beijing to be considered a classic, good coffee, lots of books, nice people, internet connection, if you need to hide for a while of the pollution... More

My husband and I visited the Bookworm bookshop and cafe a couple of years ago . We really liked it then, there were interesting books on the shelves and it had a lively atmosphere. We returned a couple of days ago and did not have the same experience. Bookworm seems to have hit 'hard times'. My husband and I ordered... More

We stopped in Bookworm for quick lunch. The food was not really good, but we liked the place itself: it just felt so peaceful and relaxing. The shelves were full of books to read and there were a couple of activities organised in two other rooms: some kind of game for kids and musical instrument playing lesson for adults.

I used to only buy my books here, but recently tried the food a couple of times. The burger and beef pie were good choices - good quality beef used. The hummus starter includes a large plate of vegetables to dip into the hummus. As a standard, there was always a soup included which will surely warm you on those... More

Great place for relaxing and reading English classics and new literature. Great selection of travel books (lonely planet, rough guides). Also frequented only by expats or tourists. You can find pretty much everything, but keep in mind that you are in China and that every English book is sold to foreigner, so the price is often higher than what you... More
