Went for lunch and the food was good, but I wouldn't consider it amazing. We ordered some appetizers (mushroom stuffed with cheese and also stuffed eggplants), salmon, and the Bulgarian meatball (more like a mini loaf) stuffed with cheese, pickles, and other ingredients. They were all tasty. Service was good. Ice cream or yogurt comes with the lunch.

We just went there recently with a bigger round. Reservation on a Friday evening is a must have. Service was ok. Beer order took quite long. Stuff was friendly and English wasn't a problem. We had salad and mushrooms as appetizer and was delicious. For main food ordered meat platter with various kind of meat and sausage and was very... More

I have visited this restaurant in Seoul itewon more than 3 times. This time I went with my family. Spinach chicken is the best item among the menus. Chef form Bulgaria are working in the restaurant and you can enjoy the best Bulgarian cuisine in Seoul.

We first discovered this restaurant 10 years ago. It is still a wonderful restaurant and one that satisfies your craving for European "comfort food." The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and really lovely for a date night. We had great service and finished the evening with an espresso and a "Polish espresso" (coffee flavored vodka). We will be back!

Jan 6, 2017 Got the lunch special which was soup/salad, main, and a dessert. Chicken soup was good. For main, chose mixed platter which was a (dry) chicken skewer, hamburger steak, and two (tiny) pork ribs. Dessert was plain yogurt and everyone in the restaurant was getting it comped anyway, so the special wasn't really that special. Anyhow, eight hours... More

I rarely write review of bad experiences but this was just too gross. We ordered some appetizers and in the eggplant cheese was some kind of ROACH. They were nice about it and we didnt pay for our meal but it just was shocking for a presumably nice restaurant. Never again will I eat there.

First visit to a Bulgarian restaurant in the heart of Seoul and served by Aigera from Kazakhstan. Cannot get more interesting than that. Menu is interesting ordered Kiufte which is pork and beef meatball with vegetables and mushroom sauce with Bulgarian rose water. I wanted to try some Bulgarian wine but they serve only by bottle and I could not... More

I learned about Zelen from Korean friends. They told me about a famous Balkan place in Seoul with good food. Tried it recently with a couple of friends. All of the food was great, but the best we tried was kofte, minced meat. Great taste and atmosphere like in Bulgaria. If you feel like trying some great dishes from the... More

Staying in Itaewon

Neighbourhood Profile
Itaewon
Neighboring the immense Yongsan American Garrison, Itaewon was once shunned by locals as a seedy, red light district. But within the past few years, Itaewon and its surrounding neighborhoods such as Kyunglidan and Haebangchong have undergone a major revival to quickly become one of Seoul’s hottest areas. Here, trendy international restaurants dot the area alongside hip lounge bars and some of Seoul’s hottest club venues. After dark, Itaewon comes into its own as one of Seoul’s top party scenes. The crowd is a fascinating patchwork of all backgrounds and identities, including a small but thriving Muslim community (centered on Korea’s sole mosque), the LGBT community (with a string of popular bars and clubs), and a wide range of ethnicities and cultures scattered around. Those seeking a quiet respite should head towards the eastern end, in Hannam-dong, which not only has one of Korea’s best art museums, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, but plenty of mid-range to upscale restaurants and cafes.
