We got into Seoul late evening and arrived at our hotel around 1am. This was the only logical place to eat, we did not want oily junk food before going to bed. And was it a delight to be able to eat here. Everything tasted more than what we expected. The best Mandu by far. You have to try it... More

We came during lunch and waited for thirty minutes. It was a Tuesday around 2 PM. Well, this place was so hyped up it actually met my expectations. This was the best seolleongtang I've had. I thought Gam Mee Oak in NYC was the gold standard, but this place kicks it up a notch. I think it's because the meat... More

Great food at affordable price! Queued for a quick lunch at Myeongdong. The queue was long, but because of the restaurant efficiency, it moved rather quickly! Food was served promptly after order was taken. Will definitely be there the next time when visiting Myeongdong!

Perfect for a late night meal or early morning in winter to get your stomach warm for a good night sleep or a great start of the day in winter. This place opens 24 hours and at a very convenient location in Myeoungdong. I was lucky to be there before 8am, there was a line forming after I came in.... More

Got to front of shop by 7:20am by which time a small queue had already formed. But the queue moved quickly enough and 20 mins later I was seated. It was a delicious meal, an excellent choice on a chilly March morning. The radish kimchi was very good too. Free flow tea was also provided. Staff was efficient and polite.... More

We went there for lunch. We ordered the seolnongtang (Ox bone soup) with rice KRW7,000 (a nice lady's portion) KRW5,000 (child's portion). The men ordered the Mandu Seolnongtang (Ox bone soup with dumplings) and Modeum Suyuk (Ox bone soup with assorted boiled tender meat with tofu & vegetable). All are so yummy that we finished our lunch in no time!... More

If you want to taste one of Korean traditional dishes, try this. Seollongtang. I'd rather say a pot than a dish. It is a special Korean beep soup with a little of noodles. You can enjoy with rice and also with side dishes like kimchi and ggakdoogui. Strongly recommend!

Visit this restaurant due to high rating. This restaurant always crowded especially during lunch or dinner hour. You may need to queue up for 10 to 15 minutes if you visit during peak hour. But you won't be disappointed as they serve tasty beef broth and the service is good. Definitely recommend.

Coming from SoCal, we have a lot of great Korean food, but even so, this place is soooo good. The broth has a delicate beef flavor, which is enhanced by the salt. The kimchi is also perfect - just the right balance of sweet, salty, and tender. This soup really hit the spot on a cold day. Definitely worth trying!

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
