We went in a group of 3 families to have some pizzas for dinner. It is so easy to cook a pizza properly that I can't understand why they were all soft and undercooked. I don't know other food but pizza is definitely not the...option.More

Arriving at Solanas Villages in Punta del Este (more precisely Punta Ballena, 20 mns drive from PDE itself) for the first time can be tricky: you’d expect not only the beautiful and huge complex with gardens, facilities like swimming pools and the impressive Crystal Beach,...but also some good restaurants or at least snack bars where to consume a quick meal. Consider that there is only a very small drugstore in the complex, so no way to do your food shopping to cook in the apartment you rented (unless you come with your car full of food) and that with the buquebus from Buenos Aires you get at Solanas around 1 pm and you are hungry having gotten up very early to catch the 7.15 am boat from Puerto madero. Well, being the only option ( well, ok you have a beach bar at the crystal lagoon) Kalhua is not bad: we had a nice and fresh Caesar salad (normally I avoid it but this time it resulted in a very good option), some fish and sandwiches. It is not cheap ( nothing is cheap around there) but it saved us in a very hot and hungry day.More

My family and I had lunch in Kalhua and we enjoyed it very much. Staff is friendly, the restaurant offers a kids's menu, which is great for people, like me, that have kids! The food was delicious, pleasant environment, friendly staff. If you are the...type of person that is always in a hurry, you may not like it though. However, since we are on vacations, we didn't mind waiting for a while to get our mealMore
