Make sure to go to Tawlet, the food is amazing! Better to book a table before as it gets quite packed.

If you go to any Lebanese restaurant you will be served the usual mezzeh dishes, hommos, moutabbal, etc... Rarely do you find a restaurant that serves home cooked Lebanese dishes... Tawlet not only serves the best of Lebanese cuisine, it does so in a charming environment... There is always something different and delicious to eat there as different cuisines throughout... More

We went there on a chef's recommendation. The food is ok. A lot of choice and very traditional. We thought it was a bit expensive.

I went there today, the food is very normal, the place is very small and not interesting at all, the most thing that bothered me is when you're filling your dishes the mothers and workers don't stop starring at you untill you leave the kitchen, this is very bad and disturbing in self-service restaurant.

It is a nice Lebanese style all you can eat buffet with mostly vegetarian variety. However, try to get there early as they do not replenish when a dish is done and usually tasty dishes finish first. Today for example the stuffed vine leaves with cutlets had no more cutlets by the time we arrived which was 2:00 pm. Their... More

Cooks replenish plates throughout the service (1-4 pm). Traditionally, stuffed grape leaf vines receive are offered with the top layer being cutlets. At Tawlet, however, we add... More

It was my first time trying the buffet this past Saturday. The food was outstanding. Definitely try the kibbeh nayeh and leave room for the knafe and desserts.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. A beautiful setting, with simple benches and large windows and casual self-service system. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. Good location just off Armenia Street. We had salads, rice, lentils, beans, pastries, meatballs and sausages, all homemade and wonderfully flavoured. You sit quite close to other diners... More

Description
This is a wonderful little restaurant ideal fro brunch or a wonderfully varied lunch. Souk el Tayeb started as a farmers market in 2004, and now offers a range of delicious regional Lebanese dishes and desserts, as well as preserves, jams and sweets that can be bought in the restaurant. The concept is to offer fresh, organic food, with dishes changing weekly, so that one can savour different dishes from around Lebanon. Brunch is offered on Saturday, and during the week a wonderful lunch buffet is offered at a set price, including main courses, appetizers and salads, as well as desserts. The food is nothing short of delicious and the service impeccable and very friendly. The space is light and laid back, with a mixed crowd of lunching ladies, young professionals and some business men, all seamlessly blending in together. There is also a little outside space with a couple of tables.
