I and my husband first experience with this meal was in the year 2001 when we came to Mecca for Hajj. We stayed at Hilton apartment where the Al Tajaz location in the ground floor near Ben Dawood supermarket. Their grilled chicken is our favourite. Now they also serve Habsah rice with chicken or shrimp, cole slaw, green salad, corn... More

The outlet sells only local (Watani) chicken. Therefore if you are bit late some of the most popular items are sold out. The food is very reasonably priced and generously portioned. Most of the rice item, one portion will suffice for two. If you like sweet stuff try their bousbousa, it's only 5 SR and very tasty.

The Kabsa and Mahraja special meals are very nice and a must try for Arabians and even the spice loving Indians. It is also very affordable and you can have a complete meal for two in Saudi Riyal 30 ( about $8.5-9.5). However one must not try any other thing here especially tikkas.

Al Tajaz is a famous restaurant in Makkah because of its rates and food quality. It is Arabian restaurant and usually people who like spicy food do not swallow its chicken and rice. Only Arabian like it because for Pakistani spice lovers it is hopeless.

If you are halaal conscious then this is the place to be. Most restaurants get their chicken from Brazil.
