Like many restaurants of this type, I would say that the experience was very good and probably better than the food itself. The hummus was quite good and the rest of what we ordered was also good, although very heavy and somewhat salty. Again, this...More

The food is great. Good selection of typical Iraqi or Kurdish dishes such as the cooked Kuba. The eggplant stuffed with ground beef is superb. Ambience in the market is fantastic and the old style of cooking over a very low stove called in Hebrew...More

Most of the dishes are beef stew or hummus. I love the azura which is stuffed eggplant with ground beef.

Having lived in Jerusalem for over 50 years I thought I knew many great restaurants to visit. Here under my eye in the midst of the Mahane Yehuda outdoor market is a wonderful Kurdish restaurant. They cook in the old fashioned way over a kerosene...More

Warm feeling with tasty food! The food is cooked in a special and traditional way which gives its rich taste. The prices are medium and the staff are very polite. You must eat here if you want to have full experience of the market.

Sabbath or not, they are not open in the evenings. Anyway, the food is finished very quickly (after 3 or 4 pm, you are left with "left over"). So I don't think there is a need to serve in the evenings.

Hello Simone. Sorry about the delay. II spoke with Nir, one of the owners and chefs of Azura. He stated some of the items gluten free: Sofrito (a long cooked stew with potatoes), Kima-a meal I personally had: very large... More
