The restaurant is quite small, lots of action with staff and patrons coming and going. The highlight of the menu is the Azura special eggplant and meat meal.

Forget about the fancy places. If you are after the best local authentic food go to Azura. This is the real taste of the MachneYehuda market. Do not leave Jerusalem without visiting Azura. We highly recommend the 'house soup'. The simplest name does not give you a clue what to wait for... The 'bull tail' is another great choice, some... More

When in Jerusalem one must visit the holy sites, the surrounding desert areas, attend some concerts, visit the Israel Museum, the Rockefeller Museum, the Museum of Islam in Rehavia, Yad V'Shem, Mt. Herzel, and EAT AT AZURA. Slow cooked Turkish cuisine. "Azura" is on the menu: eggplant stuffed with savory chopped meat. Calf's foot soup, meatballs, salads, kube soup, and... More

We had not been back for about a year. There was not particular reason why, just didn't get around to it. We went back there today for lunch, and I must say we were not disappointed. The service, and food were great. Its a very busy place, so you may have to wait, but its worth it.

I was there after my tour at Old City and it was really satisfying. The atmosphere is really nice, with all the desks in the nearby streets. Service is fast and effective and food delicious. The peppers they served us as appetizer were fantastic. Surely worth a visit.
