You can!t get a better view ! You are on a terrace overlooking Bosbhorus bridge and Ortaköy Mosque - a gem. It has just been opened after years of renovation; it is only a 3 min walk from the restaurant. Just order, go there, enter and see the inside of the mosque as well. Then return and have your dinner.

Three of us ate there and we all loved our various dishes. The wine recommended by the waiter was very good and the waiter who looked after us was very charming and efficient. The views of the Bosphorous, the traffic on the water, the mosque and bridge are outstanding. Fantastic location, great food. Book to ensure you get a table... More

We had a great last night in Istanbul at this restaurant. Despite it raining, the view was lovely as was the food. It was expensive but only given we had entree, main, shared dessert, wine and a cocktail. All fabulous. Dumplings entree was a hit. Highly recommend for a fun night.

Amazing food and great views. This place has the best of it all - food, views, service and ambiance. Located in Ortokoy - we always go back to this restaurant for a fun dinner before a night out to the hippest clubs just below - Zuma & Angelique.

I recently moved to Istanbul in March of 2014 and was really craving to have some Asian food close to my home in Ortakoy. Just footsteps away, and on the Bosphorus I found this gem. I had Indian Samosas for appetizers and a vegetarian noodle dish for the main course and was extremely satisfied with my meal. The samosas tasted... More

We decided to dine at the Banyan restaurant on our last night in Istanbul and were impressed by the following dishes : 7 herb salad with warm goat's cheese/tangy lemon ginger dressing, the seared tuna with crispy vegetable/ Terayaki sauce and the Singapore beef noodles. They had a good selection of wines by the bottle but very few by the... More

Good food and location. On the top of a building over looking the Bosphorous in the village of Ortokoy. Had lunch one sunny afternoon. Was not disappointed.

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
