Though we thoroughly enjoyed Turkish coffee on our trip, the cortado here really hit the spot. Also, this neighbourhood is just delightful. Definitely worth the walk up the hill to check out!

Be carefull about this establishment, a street cat made home this coffeeshop, so the cat has been wandering around the coffeee preparation area, The cat sits and sleeps on the preparation desk all day long. I have never seen such a thing in my entirelife. The cat drops its hair everywhere. I like cats, but there is a serious hygiene... More

Being a lover of specialty coffee it's not always easy to find a good place. Kronotrop definitely raised the bar for all coffee to be had in Istanbul! If you're into a good cup of fresh light roast coffee, you should deeeefinitely pay them a visit!

Just been to Kronotrop Cihangir around midday today and it will be the last time because of the waiters in general, Today was just one time too much rudeness that I can't take anymore. Very disappointed in terms of service. Shame for them, I Live in the area and I often go there as I really admire the dimension they... More

Looks like the "cool" people do not realize how bad treated they are in this place. The waiter is terribly arrogant. If you are famous maybe he treats you well.

Had Kronotrop in our visiting list when in Istanbul. What a place to have a coffee! Actually I had the best, most complicated tasting espresso ever. Had it been closer to our location I would surely visit again and again. Open your mind for fresh, lightly roasted coffee and taste what Kronotrop has to offer is my suggestion

It was really difficult to find a good coffee at Sultanahmet but now, thank god Kronotrop is here for the real coffee lovers. Their location is also great. If you need a break during your sightseeing tour in the old town, this is best place to chill out.

I visited Kronotrop several times during my stay in Istanbul. The coffee menu is extensive, including both espressos and cold drip coffee. Seating is limited (inside and out front), so probably not a great place to bring a large group of people unless you're looking for a coffee to go. Prices are affordable, and service is friendly. Definitely recommend for... More

We enjoyed a latte (9.5 TL) at their Sultanahmet branch after a big meal. Cafe's style and decor are welcoming and relaxed; it's good spot to sit down and chill. The coffee unfortunately was fairly run of the mill: decent but unremarkable, erring on the bitter side. We have not tried many coffee houses at this point, but I'm a... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
