Had the opportunity to eat at Otantik 3 or 4 days in a row during the failed military coup in Istanbul in mid July 2016. The chicken kabobs were really juicy and well marinated and the handmade flatbreads were something out of this world! Pick any stuffing like meat, cheese, spinach or potato or a mix and a hot and... We order several dishes and they were all prepared to perfection. The iskenderi kabab was served proper with lots of yoghurt and the fresh bread was amazing. My family loved the place. They also served some great extras as specials. Loved it and would certainly return.

Had dinner in this restaurant. We were worried of the "touristy" reputation of most restaurants in this area but found that Otantik offered very good Turkish dishes at moderate prices. The service is very good and the variety of dishes very good. A very nice experience and very good value for money. The restaurant is spread over three levels, so... More

While we stayed in the Taksim area, we went to Otantik on Istiklal Cad. twice. One for lunch and the other for dinner. They seems to have 4 restaurants in Istanbul and this one is the most recently opened according to their description on the menu. We really liked the food, mood of the restaurant, the price, the friendly staffs,... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
