We had dinner at Mia Mensa to celebrate a friend's birthday. We sat at a table right next to the Bosphorus and enjoyed the lovely view. The appetizers and pizzas were good, but not spectacular.

You can't sit in the seaside unless you have lunch or dinner otherwise you can sit near the bar but the crepe with the ice cream was actually pretty good and the waiter was friendly.

This Italian themed luxury restaurant is situated at Kurucesme, my favorite part of Bosphorus. Unfortunately, the decoration looks dated and shows no sign of "style". There was a refrigerator out in the open air, next to our table. It looks like a cheap seaside town cafe. But the view is what people are here for, you can sit by the... More

Went for dinner and we knew this as a great restaurant from past experience. Had booked a table by the water and the view is between the first and second bridges. You watch the ships and yachts go by as you enjoy your meal. The food was excellent, service attentive and there was nothing that one could hav asked for.... More

Breakfast here is a great option. Less famous than the neighbor Ask, but it was a great surprise. No queue, no fuzziness but a great meal.

In our show in Istanbul we used as a venue the Mia Mensa Restaurant for the launching of Kayra Wines. The restaurant is located at the shores of the Bosphorus River and features Italian Modernistic Fusion Cuisine. The entire kitchen staff has been very helpful knowledgeable and professional. The Hygiene Standards in the kitchen where immaculate and HACCP standards to... More

This restaurant is fantastically well situated on the Bosphorus, and besides its lovely setting has a certain panche about it. Food is excellent and there is a nice arrangement for drinks before or after a meal. This restaurant is just down from Ortakoy and before Bebek and a short taxi ride from the centre of town.

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
