My wife and I ate here late in November and did not want to eat anything heavy. We had four starters: baked humous, rolled meatballs with filling, Borek plate (cheese filo pastry) and fried calamari. All the starters were excellent especially the rolled meatballs with...More

Enjoyed this place ! Had Wi-fi. Food is great and very authentic . Turkish coffee ! Yum yum, they don’t have desserts apart from Baclava but there is lots to choose from the menu and it’s in a nice quieter section of the town .

Good value, good food, friendly service, good value. We enjoyed this restaurant very much. Worst thing was if you sat outside, there was quite a bit of traffic squeezing up and down the very narrow road.

We had starters, main and a tasty baklava desert here. The starter of dolmades which we shared was full of flavour. For the main course I had a kebab, really tasty, a little chilly giving it a nice kick, offset by the yogurt. My wife...More

Located in the heart of Sultanahmet, a stone's throw from Hagia Sophia and across the alley from the Sura Hagia Sophia hotel, this charming , spacious eatery offers some great choices on their menu. I would call it CosmoTurk cuisine, with a little something for...More

We were in Istanbul for four days and enjoyed Khoresani so much that we ate dinner there twice. The Ottoman dishes were savory and beautiful (my goulash simmered in a hot stone bowl); the kebabs were beautifully plated and not overdone. We watched a parade...More

As a family of four, we visited here our first night in Turkey and had a delicious meal. We probably should not have told the server it was our first day in town. Our bill which was not in English reflected a 10% fee for...More

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere
stroll of each other – and all set around the site of
an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an
overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a
prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the
Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this
relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to

"Ask most tourism representatives, restaurateurs, and waiters in Old Istanbul to recommend a restaurant, and most will offer Khorasani Kebab&Grill and Steak House. This restaurant has been a part of the Sultanahmet gastronomy scene for many years and is famed for its Turkish BBQ (the ocakbaşi), tender kebabs, and freshly prepared mezes. While the menu caters to a range of culinary interests, if you want a unique dining experience then ask to pick out your mezes and kebabs from the kitchen counter and have the chef cook your kebab over the BBQ's open fire inside the restaurant. Another popular dish from the coals of the BBQ is the Testi Kebab. As featured in New Zealand's World Kitchen TV show, this flavored meat and vegetable casserole is sealed in a clay pot, slowly cooked over the BBQ coals, and cracked open before the eyes of diners. Check out the video under "We in Press" on the Khorasani website for more information about the kebab from Central Anatolia. Khorasani also has a great wine menu and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner." Afar.
