Located on second floor in typical building inside the maze of streets nearby Istiklal, this place offers good variety of meze and some choice of grilled meats of various types. The food is excellently cooked and presented great (I had one of the best beef in recent years of my travels here). The service is also excellent, waiters are friendly,... More

We ate in a number of restaurants during our visit to Istanbul but Anitochia was by far our favourite. The staff make you feel at home, particularly on your second visit. The food was outstanding and a great menu. Excellent ambiance and a great place to talk about a great day in Istanbul.

The restaurant is in a lovely alley. The restaurant has a modern and tasteful decor. The mezzes were amazing and tasty and the bread was extremely tasty. The kebab we ordered was good for 2 pax. It was on a metal plate and made of mince meat. Really tasty and worth a visit. Good value for money.

Interior is nice. The workers are really friendly and well interested about the customers. The foods are little bit better than average

This is a smart, trendy place which is slightly hidden but well worth hunting down. The food is from Antakya, down towards the Syrian border, and it's really well executed. The portions aren't huge, so it could be considered less good value than many places - but it's very good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We'd be happy... More

I simply love eating out in hip Beyoglu and I do love it because of restaurants like Antiochia. If you are looking for traditional dishes, served in a stylish and modern atmosphere and delivered by extremely friendly staff then look no further. The cold mezzes plate was very well prepared as was the beef tenderloin, which we rounded up with... More

The beef durum and 3 mezes plate was super flavourful and reasonably priced given the quality of the food, the helpfulness of the servers and the incredibly chic environment. It's a few minute walk from the Galata Tower neighbourhood. Relatively easy to find. The best way to characterize the experience is that you were eating food that was worthy of... More

This restaurant has a very good name and I was taken there by a friend to give it a try. I felt very comfortable with decor (and tasty smells around!). Menu is based on the specific area dishes - coming from ancient Greek city of Antiochia. Good wines' selection and price ranges for all taste. Starters were good, however main... More

Superb, easily one of the best dining experiences I have ever had in Turkey - and I have lived here for some time now. A great, intimate, cosy place with a wonderful atmosphere and superb dishes. The bride's family were from Antakya, and told us that this restaurant is a regional institution. It is now my favourite restaurant in Istanbul.

Thank Steve M

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
