The view is incredible - and that just might be Topaz's undoing - there is very little else that can measure up to that! The highlight really was walking into the restaurant. The food was good, the wine average, the service excellent but we left feeling we didn't get what we thought we would when we walked in...

The views from this restaurant are wonderful as well as the great food and lovely service. Extensive wine list, you should try the Turkish wine, the ones we had were great!

I went to Topaz with my girlfriend because of the reviews it got on Tripadvisor and I was looking for a good restaurant. Major pluses: 1- The view is fantastic. An unobstructed view of Bosphorous, the Dolmabahçe Mosque and the first Bridge. The front desk was kind enough to give us a table by the window even though we called... More

The spot is really all the money. The large all glass facade allows even when you are at a rear table to have most of the magic view of Bosporus. The food is average both in variety and in quality. Nothing to fall from the chair. There is a good wine list but I felt that the prices where in... More

I was desperately looking for restaurants along the bosphoros sea but surprisingly did not find any. A review from tripadvisor led me to Topaz. I was greeted by very helpful staff who gave me a table for one looking directly to the sea. The wine recommended by the waiter was one of the best i had. The beef fillet was... More

Beautiful and elegant surroundings, excellent service, fantastic view, clean as a whistle and oh my good the food!!!! Nicely sized portions, heavy on taste and quality but light on the belly. Best amouse bouche ever, a sort of cold cherry soup. If I'm in Istanbul again I'll be back!

Topaz is one of the best restaurants in Istanbul, great mix of local cuisine and international dishes. The place is on top of Besiktas hill overlooking the Bosforo bridge and the Asian side of the city. Very elegant with dim light and a large bar. The offer is wide, I personally enjoyed a artichoke with Turkish olive oil and some... More

We visited Topaz restaurant on a trip to Istanbul for a close family members 21st birthday, the restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. Almost immediately you are awe stricken by the views through the floor to ceiling windows (ask for a seat near the window) The service was great, even though the waiting staff had very little english, every food... I had dinner at this restaurant, all that remember is that I had great fun. The view is breathtaking, music was nice, food was authentic, service was fine. Waiters don't seem to speak anything but Turkish though. Great for business and experiencing a piece of Turkish delight " no pun intended" ....

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
