Our tour group stopped for dinner and had an excellent meal of barbecued meat & vegetables. The restaurant has no exterior signage and was difficult to locate unless you knew where you were going.

Tucked away down a small road and with the entry behind a building this place will be hard to find unless you have help. But it is well worth the visit. A modern cozy restaurant that is consistently good. They are know for their bbq...at the table. The waiters remove a lid in the centre of the table and then cooked hazelnut shells are placed down and then a grill on top (all vented to the ceiling). Various meats and vegetables are then cooked (by the servers). Delicious. Their laghman is one of he best I have ever had as are their other dishes. Staff are very attentive and some speak a small bit of English. Highly recommended!More

not much of an option but food is good, a lot of foreigners go there just to have a beer. good to have such a place in town. btw you cook your own food on a grill.. kinda reminds turkish kebab houses

Hidden away in an apartment building adjacent to an electronic housewares store, this place has no outside signage. The interior is cozy with a grill at every table. But we were here for lunch and the grills weren't working. We got a fixed meal of...salad, soup, and kabab from the kitchen. All were good.More

This restaurant is in what seemed to us to be a hidden location on the side of one of the many giant Ashgebat buildings, without any exterior signs that we could see. Fortunately, our guide brought us here and the food was excellent. Each table...has a grill in the center with a metal hood to remove the smoke and a server rotates from table to table turning over the food, which in our case was bell peppers and kebab (shashlik). The food was fresh and tasty. The only drawback is the slowness because the man with the tongs turns over each bell pepper one by one, several times, in front of each person as he moves between the tables, and then it is done. The you get another one eventually. It might be more efficient to let the diners do it themselves, but anyway, it made of a nice meal. I don't know what else is on offer.More

I love this place because there is so many cakes which you also will love and eat. Their prices affordable for all people. They have 4 or 5 branches through Ashgabat.

To emulate other reviews, it is hard to find but the prices in which others complain about are acceptable for the decor and atmosphere. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. You get what you pay for and the environment matched the price...tag. Ebony it people and don't fret the price.More

I visited a few restaurants in Ashgabat and I believe Altyn Cynar is really worth visiting. Restaurant is not cheap but food was really good, service was excellent and atmosphere was nice.

Located near to the city center, this restaurant provides a nice atmosphere and you can have fun taking to your friends (the place is quite enough) whilst enjoing your meat and vegetables being grilled on your own table. I recommend to also try their mushrooms...with cheese, when grilled they are so tasty... The service is good and the waiters are friendly. Don't drink wine, it's too expensive, beer or vodka are my suggestions.More
