I can not say the best restourant-cafe in the city but I can easly say that Altyn Jam is the warmest. Foods delicious. Service better than others. Prices average. Outdoor garden is best for weekend breakfasts.

The menu is mostly stuff that will fill your stomach and sit there all day, but it is also great comfort food. The service is not great and reminiscent of Soviet eateries,... More

I have been going to Altyn Jam for lunch for many times. Altyn Jam has some advantages I would like to share: 1) It is a good place to have a business lunch, since they have a tasty, fresh various types of soups, salads, and main dishes, which were prepared in the morning, so you just get there and quickly... We had dinner with my colleagues at Altyn Jam and enjoyed it a lot. The menu offers wide choice of salads, pork, mutton, beef, chicken and fish dishes at quite moderate prices. Be careful while ordering your drinks as a couple of beers or a glass of wine can double or even tripple your check:) The atmosphere of the place... More

Ashgabat is an interesting city, and full of restaurants. BUT BE CAREFUL - if you're accustomed to having a glass of wine with your dinner. We were four people on our first night in the city, and went to this recommended restaurant for the beginning of our Central Asian holiday. The menu came, with prices for all the items except...
