Chatham Street has a range of early 1900 buildings and the Pagado Tea Room is on the ground floor of one of them. It offers a wide range of meat or veg pies, sweet pasties, puff savory snacks. We had some of the latter which were inexpensive as well as a bit more expensive chicken rice parcel. The sweets seem the most popular with people picking up large orders. It is run by the well known Colombo restaurant chain, Green Cabin

As a British tourist, I don't think you would necessarily visit this place for the food but it was a short walk from the Cinnamon Lakeside and I am a big 80s music fan. On that score (every pun intended), it didn't disappoint. Of course, it has been refurbished since the Duran boys were sitting at the tables but it retains the style and echoes of yesteryear. The columns and basic table positions all remain so you can still locate the same spot and pretend you are SImon singing Hungry Like The Wolf. And the door frame has not changed at all so you can snap the oval glass cut outs along the top and match up to the video. My nostalgia trip was more than satisfied.

We went to lunch last Thursday and ordered Lump Rice. Surprisingly there was no fried boiled egg there! Traditionally must be an egg with that. I was with a tourist and we used to go several times to this place during last 30 years! Roof was not very nice, kind of leaking badly! Still no AC, very hot inside.

Famopus for being the setting for Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf video we were a little underwhelmed with the food choice. While being very reasonably priced and tasty, there wasn't a great choice and is probably more suitable for a morning tea ratherthan a lunch.

With grand old charm of this building, this cafe is nestled in to give the traveller a water hole to refresh and replenish themselves. Great place indeed

This place had seen better days. While in a charming 140+ year old building, since it moved to "self-service", it has become little more than a lunch counter. Iconic building for the filming of Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf", it was largely deserted. Food was fine and cheap, but not too much to do or see here nowadays. It's just discord and rhyme.

My parents took me to this place because they had a sentimental value with this place since it's an old classical place. Better to up the service a bit though.

We stumbled across this place whilst in Colombo for the day. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious (My boyfriend and I both had Mongolian Chicken Rice). Prices were really cheap. A great place to swing by if you're in the city!

The place is clean but extremely hot and humid due to no A/c. The food is too oily and are not value for money. Taste is OK but portions are small.

This has been here ages and the pastries are very good. We just had short eats but you can get good rice and curry etc. Prices reasonable and service excellent. My wife said her cup of tea was superb.

Read about this in the New York Times, 36 hours in Colombo. Very underwhelming. The food was okay with not a lot of flavor. It was also cold. The waiter was very friendly.

This quaint tea shop is located in the fort area of Colombo. The whole atmosphere is cultured and very touristy in this part of town, especially close to the old Dutch Hospital. The fare is simple, tasty and very reasonably priced. The sweets are delectable and the savory pastries flake in your mouth. This is highly recommended for small lunch or a teatime snack!
