We arrived late in Vientienne and staying in Settha Palace attached to this restaurant. The kitchen was near closing but we were warmly welcomed despite being the only people there. The chef deliverd our meals of fresh rice paper roll, honey pork rib and chicken larb, each dish competed for top dish. Highly recommend based on food alone but totally... More

Vientiane does not have as many colonial buildings converted into restaurants as Luang Prabang, but hotel Setha Palace, which houses La Belle Epoque is one such building form 1932, now restored in its full glory. I would have had a meal just for the great ambiance, but the food was truly excellent. We went for Lao dishes and every single... More

In the excellent Settha Palace hotel, a visit to this charmingly elegant colonial style restaurant is like stepping back in time to an age long gone by. Formal service complements a menu of traditional French or local Laotian dishes, which are well presented, and excellently cooked. Staff are willing and able, but lack management and direction, and seem to be... More

This restaurant is located in the Settha Palace Hotel. It is attractive and air conditioned. We four chose the Laotian menu which had two choices for each of 3 courses. The food was very tasty, could have been a little more spicey. Nice presentation, excellent service. The waiter substituted a dish we preferred instead of the menu choice which was... More

What a terrific restaurant! First class dining with exquisite food and superb service. We felt like royalty! Every aspect of the dining experiences were perfect and we'd readily return knowing it would be an awesome experience. Definitely recommend with the highest rating.

Great little restaurant inside the historic Settha plaza hotel. Perfect service, great local and French food choices. Certainly the place to dine.

We were the only customers in there for Sunday lunch. Having spent a week in Laos I was busting for white peoples sustenance and this restaurant being in a hotel was one of the very few eateries with its doors open. The waiters seem completely unfamiliar with the menu and need acknowledgement and reconfirmation of your selection by making sure... More

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. I'm very sorry that you had such a disappointing dining experience. Please accept my sincerest apologies. We had a few too many new staff on duty on that day and we definitely could have handled things much better. I'm happy to let you know that our high level... More

The La Belle Epoque is in the fabulously elegant Settha Palace Hotel. The setting, with stylish colonial architecture, furnishings and artwork, is so impressive that you might forget to think about the food. The service is also impeccable. I've eaten several meals there and the food is always of very high quality. Fish and meats are usually excellent. Tasty and... More

I booked La Belle for a romantic birthday dinner (it was my 35th). I had high expectations from both the online menu and reviews, but I was sadly led astray. Firstly, the menu is different from online- not such a big deal, but there were specific dishes I was hoping to get. Secondly, I ordered the cold asparagus vichyssoise- it... More
