The restaurant is located close to Namphu fountain. IN spite of the tourisic location, most customer are not tourists but local French expats, which always is a good sign. Menu has a lot of traditional French fare. Great attention to detail, for example fries are hand cut. A must is the crepe Normany flambee, Very reasonable prices

I had pancakes and they were good. Relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Vientiane with chilled people. Will come again

This is one of our standard 'go-to' places for dinner when we're in Vientiane. The food is really good (once the green curry was a bit on the spicy side, but it's generally just right for us). Not a huge menu, but they make it all there and someone in the kitchen can really cook!

I have visited Xang Khoo on a number of occasions, and had different experiences. On at least two occasions the owner was present, and the service was very good; these were also quite busy times with a lot of customers. The menu offers a variety of Lao and foreign food, and I have tried both, and can say that the... More

The food here is excellent, and the European owner is obviously doing his best to give his customers a memorable experience, but his grumpy sour faced waitress is not helping him. I chose the menu of the day, Filet Duck Honey with salad and coffee for 55,000 kip. A good place to come if, like me you are sick of... More

It was Monday evening and there were only a couple of guests in this rather nice bar / restaurant when we arrived. We both fancied fish for dinner. My wife prefers seafood and chose the tom yam seafood together with a portion of steamed rice. The fillet of fish with a white wine sauce tempted me. This was served with... More

Had lunch here today. We had been walking around for a couple of hours and needed some food and a drink. We just happened to walk by this place and it looked good from the street with several customers enjoying a meal. My partner chose the Rustic Crepe from the specials menu and she enjoyed every mouthful. i had the... More

I arrived for a late lunch at 3:00pm. The solitary waitress was engrossed in her smartphone behind the bar. I asked if the kitchen was open and she begrudgingly said yes. I sat at a table and nothing happened. I eventually retuirned to the bar for a menu. Nothing happened. I got up again and beckoned the waitress. She eventually... More

This was my first visit to Xang Khoo. Very nice atmosphere, clean. Menu was two laminated pieces of paper. Choices of food on both sides. I chose the tenderloin with french fries and salad. Service was relatively quick. When my food came, I looked down at the 10 mini french fries and thought, wow "cheap". As I continued to eat... More

This restaurant is located within city centre, however it is located in a small lane but there is still many people who know about this restaurant. I believed the owner is a French, but the internal decor of the restaurant is Asian fushion, though the place is not air-condition, but it is not hot neither. I have gone for dinner... More
