Visited after seeing some nearby temples. We were the only ones in there around 1pm, so it felt a bit odd but not unlike what I've read here. The dishes were quite good though, we had a cold noodle dish with kimchi and bibimbap. North Korean news/propaganda played on a TV, but it didn't feel overly weird, it was just... More

the place is really big but dark. Windows are closed with curtain so no one can see inside from outside. when I was there around 3pm, I was the only customer. it's kinda scary knowing that it's owned by north korean people. there are kim jong il and his father pics on the wall, make it more creepy. i ordered... Can't really say the dishes are that tasty or the service is that great, but it sure is a special experience to eat in a North Korean restaurant! For that reason, not really recommended if a 1 or 2 nights in Vientiane only, but all expats living here should give it a try.

You enter to the sound of small dogs in a cage yapping but did not see them on the menu. First thing you notice is how quiet it is. A TV with low volume shows North Korean TV consisting of people in uniforms looking appropriately sad or ecstatic. On a table were 10 gov people whispering to each other for... More

We live around the corner from this place and have always been interested. Reviews are touch and go but we had a great experience here. The decor is very bright and clean and waitresses were friendly and functional. We were lucky to come in the middle of a singing and dancing routine and it was beautiful. The entertainment ends at... First time to visit a North Korean restaurant, the waitress are pretty but expressionless. not really friendly though. Never expected that there is dance and singing during the weekend we visited the restaurant. The food was good but a bit pricy. Overall recommended to visit for the atmosphere and tasting of north korean food where you normally unable to find... More

I have been told that this is really run by the DPRK. Been here twice. First time was able to see a cultural show - the food attendants double up as entertainers. Singing and dancing. Second time did not get to see the show - didn't enjoy the food as much then. Food was interesting - have no idea how... More

This place is delicious! I'm surprised all North Koreans aren't chubby like Kim Jong Un if this is North Korean food. I would bet the food is so good here the staff will never leave. I recommend the marinated pork. It was unreal. Seriously, I was impressed how tasty everything was.

On nanbone just south of Pha that luang, we came in here drawn by the allure of North Korea. I didn't find the food any different from South Korean, but nonetheless absolutely delicious. The steamed fish (with a large head, the best part!) was one of the best I have ever had, as well as a delicious beef and vegetable... More

I went on a Thursday. It's far out of town and there were only 4 tables. I thought it was interesting and the food is decent for Korean food. The staff were all very friendly, although they ask no questions or talk much. The food was reasonably priced, but it adds up. They put a bottle of water on the... More
