A great restaurant in a superb riverside location. A wide-ranging choice of excellent Kazakh food and a very choice of wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks. There is a 20% reduction in your bill between 12 and 4 pm on weekdays-as long as you settle your bill before 4 pm. I dined here several times and had a wonderful meal on each occasion. Definitely worth a visit or three

We had lunch at Astana Nury after exploring nearby parts of Astana, before heading across the Atyrau bridge to the other side of the river. It is located facing the Ishim River right at one end of the Atyrau bridge.
The restaurant overall is very nice inside, and it has some seating along big windows looking across the river and at the bridge, itself an interesting pedestrian bridge. This provides nice views and we had a table right at the windows. There is a small amount of outdoor seating as well. The views at the windows are very nice, making for a very nice experience whilst eating.
Service was good, if a little gruff.
Food overall was very good, but not outstanding. We had Nar Govurma and Turshua Govurma pilaf (Azerbaijan-style dishes), crispy eggplant, and a couple other things. They had pale lager which we had and the Kazakh interpretation of Masala Chai. The food was food, but a bit heavy handed and one-dimensional. The Nar Govurma was a bit greasy. We'd go here again because it was nice and the views can be great, but might order different things.

The restaurant has a nice view. The place is ok. However, I did not like the service of the waiters because they were pretty much slow. Each time I needed to look for them. The preparation time for the food was slow. It was too long.

The Schuchinsk Branch of Astana Nury has been visited a few times by us as food is great albeit ALWAYS takes ages for the meat to arrive. The waitress is always efficient however this particular time as it was a weekend having been sat for 2 hours from 6pm as it became busy a tall thin waiter came over and asked for my guests beanie hat to be removed ????? Why wait until weve nearly finished apart from getting us to leave quickly HOWEVER all it did was provide the "icing on the cake" Overpriced and rude senior waiting staff and management. WILL NOT RETURN AGAIN TO THIS PLACE

Kazakhstan - and Astana in particular- is an amazing country and city! The country had four time zones and is bigger than Europe. Not what you imagined at all. Wonderful people. If you ever get the chance - go there! As for the Astana-Nury. A tremendous restaurant in the most glorious of settings. The pictures don’t do the place or food justice. Eat, drink and enjoy life and the person you’re with. I can’t say more than that.

Astana Nury is located just next to the new pedestrian Atyrau bridge. I stumbled into it after a long walk along the river - just in time for a brunch. Menu offered a vast choice of Caucasian, predominantly Azerbaijani dishes, and kutabi were most suitable for the occasion (kutabi are a kind of savoury pancakes with herbs or cheese or pumpkin or meat). They arrived very quickly, were of good size and very tasty.
Also a great view on a river and the bridge; polite, fast and efficient service. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended experience. Not cheap but high quality dining in a very sumptuous setting. All 3 of us chose different exotic dishes and enjoyed them greatly. The lamb was cooked to perfection.

Had a lunch on terrace the other day. Took oriental style shashlik and was surprised by the very good taste and a look of the meal. Salads fresh and delisious. Had potatoes on a side, but received wedges from supermarket, which is quite a low level for a quality of over dishes. The service for 5 stars.
The second visit? Yes!

The service was good, the food enjoyable, and the setting fine. But based on the reviews, I was expecting more. I would be fine going again if I was in the neighborhood, but probably would not seek it out.

I love to have a beer on the little terrace of Astana Nury outside on the riverside. Beautiful view on the river and enjoying the evening sun and the people walking on the footpath. It's the only place I know that has this and even better is that they have Leffe and Hoegaarden on tap at very reasonable prices (long live globalization 😀). Food is also very nice, huge selection of shaslicks, salads, etc

"Astana Nury" does stand by its name and brings light to the centre of the city where it is located. In summer it offers a beautiful view over the Yesil river, a beloved promenade both by the residents and visiotrs of Astana city. The restaurant has a welcoming central asian interior with carpets on wall and delicate ornaments on the ceiling. It has two halls- a quite hall without music has family booths and the bigger hall has a stage for live singers and a space to dance. We chose the second option and enjoyed elegant Madina's voice who has worked here for many years.
It took us some time to go through the menu as so many dishes of caucasian and western cuisine were offered. We decided that our best option would be ordering a few types of shashlyk and pilaw. Pilaw is briyani's cousin but what make sit special is that the rice and meat are served separately and then mixed before coming to your plate. Chef has also prepared a few salads that balanced otherwise heavy meal.
The main course was followed by a selection of cakes so we had to order more black tea that is consumed with milk in according to kazak traditions. I also had achance to meet Damir, the manager of the restaurant who was kind enough to give me a small tour and share achievements of the restaurant which could be seen through many awards hung on the wall in the hall. He has also told me the names of some of the famous guests they have hosted, the ambassador of UAE Suheil Mtar Alketbi among them.
I was happy that I decided to go there with my group as everyone was satisfied and we would be definitely coming back on our next visit to the capital!
Tips:
Book ahead on weekends
Follow them on instagram @astananury to get a discount
Order a few different dishes and share ( a few types of shashlyk and/or pilaw as main dishes)
Try traditional dullma(wine leaves stuffed with minced meat) and hachipuri (pastries)
Do come if you only speak english as they got english menus and english speaking staff
Suitable for families, big groups of friends and corporate meetings
Muslim note:
No pork is cooked or served in the restaurant
Family booths allow to dine in private

Food is good, servce is slow and confused, the river is nice but only later when the sun isn't streaming onto you and the breeze cools instead. Large groups or small groups have plenty of room. Overall it is a nice place for a group of friends, just have patience and be prepared for the weather because seating is primarily on the covered terrace.

Astana Nury is located just on the river coast. The view from terrace is great. They have different fine dining halls with live music. Kitchen is quite successfull. Especially fish soup ( уха ) and hachypury ( хачипури ) best in the city. Prices a little bit higher than other venues but worth for it.

We had twice dinner in Astana Nury (convenient as not too far from home), and we will go back.
Both times the service was very friendly.
I had the grilled lamb meat and that was of good quality, as well as the grilled vegetables. The other guests (one USA, one South American, one French, one Dutch, so a real mix) at our table seemed to enjoy the food as well. Strange is that starters are served at the same time as the main courses, but I experienced this several times in different restaurants in Astana. In fact; when the food is ready it is served ....!
If you choose this, you can sit in an booth with curtains closed oriental style....
