Kind of had to be done while in Hanoi, and it is the home of egg coffee after all. We went in on a sat evening and no surprise it was very busy! They tried to get us to sit downstairs by the kitchen which...really looked depressing which no atmosphere so we insisted on going upstairs and trying out luck to find a table which we easily managed. The menu is very reasonable and a good variety of egg coffee, I enjoyed a hot oreo egg coffee which was tasty. I would however sat that the place was a little underwhelming based off its history but the egg coffee was good which I guess is all that matteredMore

This is the creator of the first egg coffee, but I don’t feel it lives up to its reputation. Giang Cafe’s egg coffee was bland and the cream was fishy. Overall it was not as good as the rumors, I like the egg coffee in...NeoCafe nearby more.More

The Hanoi home of egg coffee. This isn't as bad as it sounds, the egg is a sweet meringue-likr topping, so it's not a case of just cracking an egg into a coffee. Service is prompt and friendly, and the coffee is delicious.

Egg Coffee at Giang Cafe? Yes please! Giang Coffee is situated in the Old Quarter just behind La Siesta Hotel Hang Be. This was the very first place I headed for due to its history and also its unique concoction. I tried both the hot...and iced coffee and it was delicious! The inventor was working for the metropole and starting making Egg Coffee due to the price of milk in the early years. He happened on this whipped egg concoction that is now one of the most iconic coffees in Hanoi. This is one of those places you must try if you are ever in Hanoi.More

It's very delicious. You can either stir well or enjoy the whipped egg on top first. Not fishy at all. Must try when you come to Vietnam.

The entrance is very small, but the inside is quite large and crowded, I tried egg coffee and it is quite special, and easy to drink.

Tried the hot egg coffee. A bit too sweet for my taste. No drawings on the foam but they have non-smoking room which is perfect for me.

This busy café is a must to visit while walking through Hanoi. A bit hidden but worth the search. The egg coffee here is just as good, but a fraction of the price to many other higher-end places nearby. Also had a hot chocolate option...for my 9-year-old son. Note, very low & uncomfortable tables & chairs for a big guy like me, but that's part of the experience.More

While i'm not really a fan of egg coffee, I had to check out this place as it's the originator of this iconic Hanoi coffee. Loved the space with its traditional low tables/chairs and especially for the greenery creeping down the walls.

I saw no "to go" service or cups. You sit and sip. Hey, you are in Hanoi. Sit, sip and relax a bit. 😁
