We saw this on YouTube and glad we hunted it down. It was so good. The broth was amazing and the crispy fish cooked to perfection. Also recommend the the tamarind juice, was so good, nice and refreshing on a hot day.
This meal is unforgettable. It’s the best Bun Ca I’ve ever tasted. Take a walk down Ngo Trung Yen Alley and you won’t miss it. Crispy fish bits and a hint of tomato in the soup. It’s perfectly balanced with dill and vegetables.
Absolutely delicious Bun ca soup. The broth is a perfect mix of tomato and dill with the sweetness of pineapple. The fried fish pieces somehow stay crispy and tender. The noodles are great. Overall there is nothing not to like. It was one of the...best bowls of soup I had in all of Hanoi. The fish and pork spring rolls (don’t know the name) are absolutely bursting with flavour. It’s like a crunchy meatball with flavour that dances up and down your tongue. Do not miss out on the soup or the spring rolls.
Being tucked away in a nondescript alley, it probably doesn’t get the attention it deserves. If I ever return to Hanoi, one of my first stops will be this place.More
Bun Ca is a bit unknown to travelers, but is definitely worth a try, if you want fish instead of meat in your soup, to change!
And I believe that Bún Cá Sâm Cây Si is the best place in Hanoi for that.
A bowl...will seriously feed you for breakfast. Very yummy broth.
It's often packed, so be prepared to wait a bit, but not so long.
A bit heavier than a bowl of Phở, imo.More
