Was referred to this restaurant for Bun cha. Very crowded as we visited during dinner time. But place is very messy and dirty. Staff was coughing without a mask on. They serve their vegetables without using gloves so please be mindful of that. Floors are dirty too. Otherwise their food tasted good. I only tried at this place so I am not sure about the bun cha at other restaurants if the experience is the same.

I like the food here. The soup is sweet, it reminds me of the soup base for Japanese food bowl meals (donburi). For those who want to eat here, try looking at how the locals eat the food. Spoiler alert: you put noodles on a different bowl, pour the soup, add beef toppings, and then eat it. You can also season the soup base to your liking with the condiments at your table.
The servers who work there doesn't speak English, so you might need to use a translator, or just do some reasonable hand gestures for you to understand each other.
This is my first time to try Bun Cha (grilled pork with noodles), so I can't say this is the best, but it's a beginner-friendly restaurant for those who want to try Vietnamese food; however my family says otherwise 😅
The atmosphere of the restaurant might be not pleasant for others, but please bear with it. I'd say they deserve the Michelin recognition that they've received.

There are so many Bun Cha aka Vietnamese bbq pork nearby the same area but seems this is one of the shop with longest history.
The food is nice but the way the staffs handle the food seems not so hygienic. The woman who serve us the rice noodle used their hand to take the noodle and similarly for the ice cube for our drink without putting on glove. The seating areas are very narrow and cramp.

We got taken here on a street food tour of Hanoi and the food was Amazing! Their speciality is Bun cha and the family restaurant has been making it since 1966....so they appear to be experts. Our family of four ...two adults two teens all loved it! Go enjoy!

This is my second time here. And i don't think it worth to try.
1) They use microwave to heat up the meat. It wasn't new grilled. Maybe they grilled them hours before service time. And the meat turned out cold and boring.
2) The bun (noodle) portion is small. I dont know if they charge for extra noodle or not.
3) 70,000 VND/for 1 bowl without nem ran (fried spring roll). I think it is expensive for the poor quality. A lot of meat but the taste is just not great.
The staff were friendly and try a lot to communicate with customers. The rau song (green vegetable - herb, cilantro,...) is amazing and clean and generous.
Overall, you should try another Bun Cha place where they grill the mear in front of you, I think the taste will be much more delicious than this place!

Bun Cha, a Vietnamese dish, was a terrible dining experience. The food quality was poor, the flavors were underwhelming, and the overall meal was a disappointment. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic and enjoyable Vietnamese cuisine. The Bun Cha failed to meet even the most basic expectations for this classic dish.

This place specializes in Bun Cha, so if they can't get it right, I think they'd be out of business. I went with my son and his girlfriend. As soon as we entered, we were whisked up to the third floor and set up for a delightful Bun Cha experience. A side dish and a beer is also recommended. We left full and spent very little. I wish I'd had gone back at least once more before leaving Hanoi. Really enjoyed it.

I've tried a few bun cha and this shop had the best bun cha! Their spring roll is the best among others. Purposely back to the same shop and have a quick lunch before heading to the airport.

My Boo and I landed in Hanoi and we asked our driver about food. He previously was a “street food” guide and recommended we try the Bun Chá, or often referred to as the Obama dish. Turns out it was the meal Obama ate with Anthony Bourdain when he visited Vietnam.
The actual restaurant where Obama ate was far out of the city center so he recommended Dac Kim. We asked around and several people said this little spot was better tasting than the real restaurant. We walked to Dac Kim and ordered up some food.
It was delicious! We ate until we were full and there was left overs. The whole meal was great and oh so tasty! If you’re walking around Hanoi, hit this spot up for some really good eats.

Four sweaty westerners looking for an authentic Vietnamese dinner stumbled accidentally on this place! We quickly saw how popular this restaurant is with the locals, so we figured we can't go wrong! We snagged the only open table on the highest floor (4th or 5th - not sure anymore) - be mindful if you don't like winding narrow staircases... The food was fantastic - neither one of us had had Bun Cha before, but we all love spicy and fresh! We were not disappointed - the young man servicing the upstairs didn't speak English, but it was easy to communicate. We watched how the patrons at the neighboring tables were assembling their Bun Cha and did copy them! Fabulously tasty - highly recommend!

The bun cha is absolutely delicious, grilled pork cooked in some kind of soup, it is sweet and have the aroma of smoky girlled meat. We have some problems when ordering and the worker (an old lady) don't really understand English.

A quick google search of where to try bun cha in Hanoi lead us to this place. It was delicious! The 'restaurant' is super basic where it feels like you're eating out on the street but this absolutely adds to the experience. For 90 dong a serve you get a huge serving of bun cha and a plate of spring rolls. Highly recommend!

Bun cha at a self proclaimed #1 (yes, their address happens to be 1 as well) cannot be trusted. This is just an average middle of the road bun cha. There’s nothing special about it.
Their meat isn’t grilled very well and their sauce lacks flavor. Their new too lacks flavor.
There are three places in Hanoi that comes to mind that are much better.
1) Hung Lau - 24 Ngo Trung Yen
2) Com Viet - 2B Au Trieu
3) no name - go down a Ngo Huyen alley off Ly Quoc Su then walk 5-10m and you will see another alley on your right. The stand is on the right hand side once you turn onto that alley.
