We went to this restaurant

We went to this restaurant quite a bit late for the lunch (~14:45).The staff I think was just about to take a break but still take our order and in 10 mins we had delicious food. Nice place, calm music and friendly staff. For sure we will return to this restaurant and try other dishes.

I was in here with customers for lunch. the service speedy and friendly. The waitress along with the multiple staff members made sure well if our needs were met . I had the baked chicken which was by far the best lunch I've had in months. My colleague had the petite filet which were also excellent. Starter salad and side items were both included with this menu.

Lovely place

I went to this restaurant with my nephew. The stuff was friendly. The food was good. The food took a bit until served. The stuff talked a lot, but not with customers, they talked to each other. Not really interested in customers. The table next to us tried to send the waiters signals that they need something. But they haven’t seen them. The waiters stood there, talked and laughed with each other.

We went to Carrot restaurant and was seated straight away as there was only 2 other people eating at the time. We ordered a drink each, a fried rice chicken dish EACH and a portion of french fries on the side. Waited around 15minutes with still no drink? They brought out the plate of french fries.. and then another 5minutes later they brought out my partners fried rice chicken and the drinks. I waited around for another 15minutes while watching other peoples food get served who arrived after us. At this point i had to flag down the waitress and ask where my food was.. (she looked very confused) she went to the kitchen and came back and said can i wait another 10minutes.. (they had clearly forgotten my food or thought we only ordered one, which she couldn’t have as she even repeated our order back to us in the beginning) I would only recommend eating here if you like to eat ALONE!!

We ordered steak,lamb in owen with cranbery sauce and pumpkin soup. The food came late but we didnot mind considering they could be busy. First weird thing was soup and steak came together(?), soup was tasteless and steak was stone cold. We wanted to have some pepper n salt to top up the food but nobody was around to ask. It is like they just put the food in front of us like we are beggers and left! Second weird thing was, the steak was thin sliced as ready to eat, well since they claim themselves as a western restaurant, i donot know in which part of west the steak is thin sliced and served(?). Then, the lamb also was served as stone cold and that was the point we wanted to talk to someone in charge and of course no manager was around. We asked to talk to the chef since the good is his reponsibility, but it seems that the chef was busy enough not to bother himself. Be fair, except the lacking of management, the staff was friendly and even the food was tasty n good presented. Well, it seems it is a place to visit if they are not busy??!

Very disappointed!

We came to the restaurant because of the reviews and we wanted some nice French food. However, we were very disappointed. The staff member on duty for lunch was not engaged at all. No smile and no interaction. This is not a French restaurant - we ended up with burgers, pizza and deep fried eggplant. Tried to order steak, but two of the four options was not available. Also tried to order white wine, but the wine menu doesn’t mention if the wine is white or red. I had to approach the counter to ask...because the waiter would never look at our table. He said there is only one white wine and it is not chilled, so we just stuck with beer. We had to go and get the high chair for our baby and then we had to clean it ourselves. Maybe this is not a lunch restaurant...because the reviews do not match our experience at all. Disappointed as we walked 30 minutes to experience this restaurant!

Better choices out there.

Better choices out there. We called a head to see if they took credit cards and we were told yes. Upon bill payment they told us no. What if we did not have enough cash to pay? We ordered the beef filet, hamburger and the grilled fish. We were told that the filet was imported from Australia, but the cut and texture felt like it was local. It was so tough I felt like we were chewing gum. For how much they charged I expected a better cut. The hamburger tasted odd and French fries burnt. The grilled fish was decent. Food presentation was nice. We will not be back and hope that if you go, you have a better experience and bring cash.

The food is acceptable but service is not so good

Most of the dishes are bland. The service is slow. After ordering, we wait for more than haft an hour without any drinks. Then the food comes. First comes the soup, then main course, then appetizer, desert and finally salad (without dressing). They even forget 1 main course dish, makes a family member watching other eating. I think some of them are in training so they can’t handle too many customers.

The waiting staff were first class, welcoming, friendly and very considerate. The kitchen however was a serious let down. I ordered the lamb, medium. It came out RAW in the centre. I politely arranged for it to be returned to the kitchen to complete the cooking; it came back again RAW.. I cancelled the lamb and changed the order to the Duck which was ok. At the end of the evening I was presented with a bill for both the lamb and the duck...... I refused to pay for the lamb!

Not worth the high ratings. Something must have changed in the restaurant, cause the food we got had no taste. On the pizza was also way to much cheese and hardly any meat. Must be a new chef or new owner, cant imagine all these good reviews are for the same food we got. Friendly waitress though.

Small but mighty!

We were a group of friends and had a phenomenal meal at The Carrot Restaurant! We enjoyed salmon, duck thigh, and t-bone steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and had incredible flavor. If you’re in Dalat don’t miss this hidden gem!!!!

Not the experience I was hoping for. Although the food was good, but small portions, the service was lacking. The staff didn't even come to check we left the correct money let alone say thank-you and goodbye. Wasted tip...

We ate here based on some good/some bad TripAdvisor reviews. Often, we find the bad reviews on TripAdvisor to be unfounded, but unfortunately, that was not the case tonight. It was listed as a “$” restaurant, but we found some items to be considerably more expensive than we were expecting, while others were reasonable. Also, they do not take credit cards, although that is not unusual in Dalat. My husband ordered Stir Fried Beef and I ordered a Chicken Pizza. My husband said his stir fry was fine, but I thought the pizza was pretty terrible. It had some sort of brown shavings on top of it, it was overdone and the sauce was spicy and tasted like barbecue sauce. I managed to eat most of it but I did not enjoy it at all. We gave this an average rating based on the fact that my husband thought his meal was okay and because the service was decent. But we will not be back.
