I came in expecting a culinary feast and left experiencing a buyer's remorse. While the atmosphere and design of the restaurant are five stars, the reason for coming here is to feast our taste buds, not our eyes. Therefore, I was excited to be presented...with a menu explaining the history of the restaurant, pictures of all ingredients and a vast selection of Thai dishes. I chose stir-fry beef with lemongrass and basil as my lunch choice. Before it was served to me, I was offered two amuse bouche dishes, peach soda and a different one (don't remember the name). They were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, so my anticipation was kicked into a higher level. It came quickly crashing down after tasting the beef. It was chewy and hard, totally not what I expected given the initial impression of the restaurant. The vegetable ingredients tasted fine but lacked the local flavor I tasted in other, smaller restaurants and food stalls. I had mango cake as a dessert which was good but not very memorable. Average, like the rest of the food. Given the high price (don't forget to add 12% extra on top of that for VAT and "service charge"), I believe I rightfully expected a much better quality of food and service. Speaking of service, it's non-existent. As an American, I know that I cannot expect the high level of service like we get in the USA but given the price of food, I thought the waiters would be trained better. They barely spoke to me, didn't smile, never asked how the food was or if I needed more water. Having written all of this, I'm almost surprised to give this restaurant 3/5 stars. But its average food deserves average rating. I'd recommend that you SKIP this place and instead choose any other small local restaurant that will charge you one third of the price (yes, one third) and give you 100% more value for your money and taste buds.More

From the moment we walked through the wooden doors of this beautiful restaurant, and were greeted by the owner herself; we could see and feel the passion that is May Pattaya. Then, we tasted it! Bursts of fresh and subtle flavors satiated our craving for...traditional Thai food. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Pattaya. Amazing Mocktails, too 😊More

Amazing food! The MAYs curry duck was delicious. And the chicken green curry was terrific but different than typical Thai green curry because this one was creamy. Crab cakes were huge and well prepared. Restaurant is beautiful inside and servers are friendly. Will definitely go...back.More

Outstanding setting and great for Thai food and healthy drinks. Not too spicy but will cook to your liking. Such a beautiful gem in the middle of an otherwise ‘normal’ street. May has a beautiful story too and such a lovely lady.

We had our first meal at May’s this week and can’t believe we haven’t been here before. The back story to May’s is charming and she really deserves all the success in the world. The ambiance is great, with a definite “urban” feel and very...tastefully done. We had a warm welcome from the front of house staff, all of whom were very professional and well trained. Our waitress was really informative and helpful about menu choices. And then there was the food … well, what can I say? Every morsel of it was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t find fault with it even if I wanted to … which I definitely didn’t! On our waitress’s recommendation, we had the Trio of Curries for our main (May’s homemade curry sauces are a speciality) and all three of them were superb. The prices aren’t cheap (not too expensive either) but they certainly offer extremely good value for money. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough … if you are in the area you should definitely give it a try … you won’t be disappointed. We will certainly go back during our holiday here.More

My friends and I had dinner there. The decorations are fab. Having read about Ms May’s adventure it made proud of her. And I was honoured to meet her and have a chat. She is super lovely. The food is absolutely divine / mouthwatering. By...far, the nicest meal we had was here . Authentic tasty Thai food. The taste is just super yummy 🤤 The service is superb. You MUST go there if you are in Jomtien. I look forward to returning there soon Loai ( Lee) - BangkokMore

Found it when looking for a change (in restaurants). From the set-up to service and quality of food everything was great. Well, it's a bit expensive but you pay for what you get!

if you want a happy Christmas go elsewhere. The toilets are small and ...well you can guess and frequently the staff just leave used dishes piled up on tables rather than return them to the kitchen.
