Being Japanese origin, I always try to find good Japanese restaurant when I get tired of local foods while traveling. I found this restaurant near my hotel. I had a crave for soba and tempura that day for lunch, and I ordered tempura soba set menu. Lady owner (manager?) was very kind and arranged for left over boxes since there... More

This my number one japanese restaurant in BKK, introduced to me by a japanese colleague. Excellent food quality like being in Japan, at any case the restaurant is full japanese expatriates, you will rarely find typical tourists. They offer english menu list, but better be familiar with japanese food before going there. Its a bit difficult to find as it... More

A very nice Japanese restaurant specialized in soba and udon noodle. Also they serve sashimi and Japanese styled tapas. Noodle is highly recommended.

Isshin has been around for many years and they are known in the local Japanese community for their home made soba. It is a simple restaurant and has a very pleasant environment. When I walked into the restaurant this time, I have noticed that it was filled with Japanese families and their children. I love their Zaru soba. The soba... More

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
