There were good reviews about the Biryani and I tried out both the Chicken and the Mutton Biryani. The Biryani is overrated and lacks the spices, punch and taste of a good Indian Biryani. The accompanying yoghurt raita was sweet and there was some sweet green chutney. Maybe the food has been made sweet to cater to the local taste,... More

Situated just opposite the french embassy, a tucked away quiet, friendly place, serving delicious, inexpensive, home cooked meals (Indian and Thai). The staff are very friendly and the food quality excellent.

We are also delighted to hear that you liked our Biryani, a recipe from our ancestor that we are also very proud of. Looking forward to your return. Thanks again for... More

A group of nine of us went for dinner and found this excellent restaurant by accident after searching on the mobile phone for the nearest Islamic halal restaurant - we were very pleasantly surprised and had an excellent meal. The staff were most accommodating despite the language difficulties and the food, a fusion of Indian and Thai, was very tasty.... More

I've just moved to Bangkok and have been craving for biryani for a week now. This place showed up on Google and the TA reviews looked good. Thought I'd go hunt this place down. It's not an easy place to find, and at the end of my meal I'm certain that it wasn't worth my effort. I had the mutton... More

Don't expect too much from the location but the food (samosa, dahl, saffron rice, vegi curry, chapati) was very tasty. Together with two indian tea it cost us only 300 baht.

but Home Cuisine has pleased everyone I've ever taken there so unfailingly that it seems unfair to keep quiet about the place any longer. I'm a sucker for family-owned restaurants (as I suppose a lot of people who have one would be), but I'd go back to Home Cuisine even if my preference was glitzy pretension in a big hotel.... More

This is a Muslim/Indian restaurant conveniently located between Hua Lamphong and Silom. We arrived for lunch at 2 and they were already out of chickren biryani, so we opted for mutton biryani and chicken masala. The biryani was incredibly well spiced and flavorful. The chicken was also good, falling right off the bone. The roti was so-so and not too... More

Home Cuisine Islamic Restaurant is situated on Charoen Krung Soi 36, opposite of the French Embassy. We serve halal msg-free authentic & fusion Thai and Indian dishes. With very frinedly staff and relaxing greenish atmosphere.

"Hidden in a leafy corner mercifully distant from hectic Charoen Krung, this bungalow-like restaurant does tasty Thai-Muslim with an endearing Indian accent. Sit out on the breezy patio and try the simultaneously rich and sour fish curry, accompanied ideally by a flaky roti or three"....Lonely planet

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
