Found this place through TripAdvisor and so glad we did. Luckily managed to get the last table free on our early evening visit. Service was excellent, I ordered the Hanger Steak a cut which I vaguely remembered from a trip to Australia a few years before but couldn't recall it. As I asked for it Well Done the chef came... Arrived here Saturday evening and just before getting there I started the signs of a Migraine headache - I get them all the time - just need 1 liter of water and close my eyes for 20 minutes. Dave - the owner / Host came over and was amazingly sympathetic, offered me water - a couch upstairs to lie down... More

What a wonderful restaurant, right in the heart of this stunning city. The welcome you get on arrival, means you know it is going to be great evening. The food was exceptional, especially the Stornoway Black pudding starter, with apple and poached egg. A bottle of Taylors red wine, washed down a superb steak followed by 15 year Aberlour. Total... Bar and restaurant on two floors, nice and simple look, efficient service. Good selection of quick meals, beers and other drinks. Located in Sukhumvit 22 with adult bars and massage saloons, so probably not the best place to go for a family dinner.

This is a hidden gem of a BKK restaurant. Lunch is simple and delicious. Burger a highlight for me. Dinner is warm, cordial, dining experience of incredible quality produce. Dave, the owner brings the best of all international meat and seafood to Thailand. We benefit of his deep knowledge via a simple and flavoursome menu. Can vouch for 2 or... More

After two weeks of Thai food (which we love) we fancied a burger. 'No Idea' didn't disappoint. We particularly liked the relish, which comes with the burger. The service was great and the owner provided useful information about Bangkok and Thailand - an enjoyable evening.

We had read reviews about No Idea and looked at the website and liked all of it. Including the fantastic answers from the owner Dave - a lovely guy from New Zealand. So we went here for lunch and were absolutely happy. Nice service, excellent interior, open kitchen, nice wine possibilities AND yes - we were right also about the... More

Went there with good friends that have been living in Bangkok for several years. Outstanding! All meals, entrees and mains were perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place!

I've been a regular here since it opened and visit once or twice a week. I don't eat a lot of red meat, but sometimes I'll get a craving for a really good burger, and a really good burger is not easy to find in SE Asia. IMO No Idea has the best burger in Bangkok and probably all of... More

I stopped over in Bangkok for some shopping and I had to go back to have a superb meal at No Idea. The staff remembered me from a year ago....amazing!! I spoke to Dave the owner, met his wife ( Master of the Kitchen) and staff and a few English customers who were in for an ale and to watch... More

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
