We visited the International Buffet for dinner and had a most pleasant few hours by the side of the river. Staff were hugely attentive without being over-obtrusive and they even had a jacket stand to hang my jacket upon at the table. The buffet itself is wide, varied, in fact totally huge with pretty much everything you could want in... More

One of the nicest ways to have dinner in Bangkok is at the scenic riverside. Don't let the buffet style scare you off. The set-up of the food and the tables is in a way that you are not bothered by guests walking from their table to the buffet and back. The atmosphere is informal and also elegant; people dress... Great location, stunning river views as the cruise boats go by. We had the BBQ banquet, amazing freshness and flavours. Desserts wonderful selection. But again very expensive....$360 with wine for 2!

After eleven years I was back in Bangkok and we dined twice on the Riverside terrace. Although we stayed at the Shangri La hotel this time, it always feels like coming home at the Oriental hotel. For sure we will stay here the next time. There is no other place in Bangkok! We enjoyed the atmosphere, kind service of staff... More

Dear yeoc468, Warm greetings from Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. Thank you very much for your valuable feedback about your buffet experience at The Riverside Terrace. I am most disappointed that we were not able to provide you with the high standards of food quality which we are usually associated with and that our team was not able to refill the buffet... More

First the Mandarin is such a nice hotel. The Riverside Terrace has the best brunch! It has so many things to choose from. If you want an American breakfast they have it. If you want more of an asian flare, perfect. Desserts, Wow! If you don't find it, just ask. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The only complaint I... More

We were staying at the Peninsula and took the hotel owned riverboats across the water between here and the Mandarin Oriental Riverside Terrace restaurant. A lovely way to arrive for dinner! The buffet itself is extensive and very delicious. We had some very good sushi, beautiful roast beef and yorkshire puddings (a taste of home!), and pattiserie to die for... More

My first Lunch in Bangkok was at the riverside, Oriantal. My friends bring me here and it was amazing, we took a beautiful bottle of Rose and my Pad Thai was really amazing, also the mango and sticky rice as dessert. And the view with the Chao Praya is wonderfull and so relaxing.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
