We had tea time at the Mandarin Oriental. I felt like a queen, enjoying the sublime taste of the fingerfood, Asian style. You have a choice between an Oriental inspired tea time or a more Western style. We chose the Oriental one. The tea served is very fragrance of a very fine taste. ( severak choices) You enjoy this moment... More

We had the oriental afternoon tea as part of our honeymoon. It was amazing. The service was excellent. It felt like real luxury, especially with the chocolates at the end to take away and the free book marks. Beautiful place.

Very comfortable environment with stylish colonial decoration. Area is not big but not crowded. you could have a relaxing afternoon here. The services and food quality are excellent. We have afternoon tea set here. The treats are dainty and creative although the portions are not big.

My son treated us to afternoon tea in this beautiful hotel. We had one of each so that we could try both the Asian and European ones. Plenty to eat, sat in the beautiful Authors Lounge with a man playing the guitar on the balcony. Very colonial feel to everything and the staff very attentive. I was given a little... More

Took Afternoon Tea package in Authors Lounge overlooked by many W. Somerset Maugham artefacts. Excellent selection of sandwiches, cakes and savouries. Unlimited supply of Earl Grey tea too. First class service in glorious setting.

We were there for a High Thea or as also called Afternoon Thea . Impressed by the ambiance and the service we (pax two) were disappointed by the poor quantity . There was just one item off each product ,what made the total impression poor and certainly not rich. Taken the price to be payed in account and compairing with... More

My friend and I spent a lovely afternoon here on a thursday, after booking the last seating 30 days ahead. They tea room was about half full and very tranquil, with a musician playing at the top of the stairs for a while in the beginning. We opted for the Thai Tea set so we could sample the local flavors.... More

We walked over to the author's lounge for tea after lunch at the veranda. The ambience is truly lovely and beautiful. Instagram worthy. Overall, this is a lovely lounge for a quaint, elegant afternoon tea.

We've very much enjoyed the afternoon tea in the writers' room. It is like a time travel and you imagine the young Elizabeth II turning the corner anytime soon. The western tea set is off highest quality and worth every bit. The eastern tea set is full of subtle surprises, deliciously balanced. The service is impeccable and friendly. We loved... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
