It's definitely not a cheap option but what do you expect for this location. Food was delicious and good variety. However, if you want to eat local the choice is not endless. But in the end its better to have a limited choice but delicious food. It was very delicious and no reason to complain about anything. Even better was... More

We came there from a boat to have a light lunch. Every thing was perfect. The environment, the staff and the food. Professional as we have expected it to be. We left with a smile of happiness on our lips

We had lunch at the Verandah, and it was amazing! The food is incredible, the view is so good, and the staff is great. We were backpacking through thailand, on a very low budget, but decided to splurge here (altough not as expensive as you would expect) and it was totally worth it. Make sure you dress properly.

We visited the Mandarin Oriented for lunch, as we wanted to enjoy the views of the river. We picked the Veranda Casual restaurant as we were dressed for walking and enjoying the shops downtown. We chose the Chef salad and it was fresh and large. It was reasonably priced and the view of the river and boat traffic was exactly... More

The overall experience is fantastic. Seated by the riverside, with exceptional service this is truly a relaxing place to unwind after a long day. The Verandah is an A'la Carte menu restaurant, if you are more inclined towards a buffet, the riverside terrace right next to it is an option.

I love the Mandarin Oriental (used to be easier when it was just the Oriental!). Mainly I love the riverside terrace, but that is not available at lunchtime. The service and the food in the Verandah are both very good indeed - expensive, of course.

Great restaurant for a Sunday Brunch with the family. It is nice to enjoy the views of Chao Praya River here meanwhile appreciating a variety of different food options in their buffet.

This place is truly special. Great ambiance and very relaxing. We had gone there as a family to celebrate a 1 year olds birthday and the staff made the evening special for us. They are very polite and helpful. The food is really good here. You do pay what you get for. The meat portions were generous to Thai standards... More

We enjoyed the brief water taxi ride to the Mandarin Oriental and selected Verandah for dinner. The seared tuna was delicious, the night breezes were gently warm after an oppressively hot day. Verandah provided the perfect dinner amid such stunning views riverside. We would definitely return!

We had had dinner here a few times during many different stays in Bangkok before.I always appreciated the gorgeous view on the Chao Phraya River and the Peninsula Hotel from here. When we had dinner here in January, we found that the place had lost it's typical and very special Oriental Hotel flair...the food was ok,but not outstanding, the service was... Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
