We had ate here last night. Chicken Tikka Masala, a lamb dish and naan. The naan was thick and heavy. The chicken was just okay - not much flavour, but decent quality chicken at least. The lamb was mostly gristle and fat, with shards of bones and tiny ones hiding throughout the meal. I was petrified I'd bite onto one... More

Less than good tasting food, all dishes in combination tasted the same, mint chutney tasted sour instead of spicy and tandoori chicken was undercooked. High prices for Bangkok and the area - similar to US prices without the good service or quality. The naan was thick as a brick. Avoid if possible- as someone said, to top it all off... More

We visited Siam Paragon mall today and after shopping it was time for lunch. But after going around the food court we were at loss what to take as we are vegetarians. We were just beginning to resign to the fact that we may have to depend on ice creams etc. Suddenly we could ourselves standing in front of this... More

My husband and I saw a small waiting line outside the Royal India while we were looking for places to have lunch - sold. The servings are massive, the service is prompt and polite, and the food is good enough that we went back multiple times. The only complaint I have is that they don't let you choose the spicy... Food was average at best. Service was definitely not with a smile and pretty sure a lot of the food was frozen and microwaved to come out. There are definitely better Indian places in Bangkok - not worth the effort of finding this one. Even if you happen to be in the area I'd probably go somewhere else - very... More

I'll start with the good bits: -I asked for a less sweet mango lassi and it came out heavenly. Best mango lassi I've had in a long time. -the kulfi that came after the food was really good. -The food it self, vegetarian thali, was ok. Bad things were: -the restaurant is down a dark and scruffy little back alley... More

We were at sampeng for shopping. Because of very few options we landed in this restaurant inside a narrow lane. The owner never smiled. The waitress was like irritated seeing a customer. The sweets outside the restaurant were in open with flies easily tipping on in. We were the only customer in restaurant when we entered. We ordered normal north... More

Food here was amazing. We had the butter chicken, dal and chicken biryani and all tasted so good. The only issue was the service was very slow. We had to repeat our request several times to other staff to get what we wanted.

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
