Visited many times and very busy this visit which I think impacted the service a little but still remains a favourite. Extensive and superb Chinese menu with good tasting menus and A La Carte. Up with top Chinese Restaurants in any city and in a fantastic environment - like stepping into 20s Shanghai but with a contemporary take. Lacquered Duck... More

We tend to go back to the place we feel comfortable with. I did not write the review of my last visit to The China House in August 2016 since the food was really sweet and something was really wrong but our recent visit in January 17, 2017 for dinner, things were back on track. Lacquered goose was excellent, stir... More

We had lunch here on Christmas Day and had the brunch menu, which is exceptional value given the quality of the food, the service and the surroundings. The seared beef tenderloin with black peppercorn and soy sauce, together with the braised rice with black truffles and mushrooms, were especially good. We ate at several cantonese restaurants during our stay in... More

We went for weekend brunch, which was very good value. We had a lovely secluded booth, and the bulk of the food was freshly cooked for us. The service was charming, and the food was excellent. You need to get there early, because they close the kitchen sharp at 2.30 pm, and it took us a total of 3 hours... More

the environment is terrific. If you order Peking Duck, remember to order 2 course for it. The value is much better. They come with the 2nd dish with different cooking style that you like. I am very satisfied with the overall food quality except the complimentary starter which is not hot enough!

The visit to the famed China House was to be our last dinner before on this trip to Bangkok. The Peking duck was doubtless the best ever and the ceremony of carving and serving it was a joy to watch. The interior is stunning with lacquered furniture, mirrors and great Chinese art pieces. Do not forget to visit the bathrooms... More

We ate here for the first time this holiday but we have done so many times before and as always the food was very good and the service attentive. Not cheap but well worth the visit.

The idea of eating Chinese food in Bangkok seems a little out of whack . But eating good Chinese food I will happily do anywhere. The Mandarin Oriental knows food. The China House is a quirky building with a very stylish Chinese Interior. The menu is not so typical yet has a great selection of dishes. The Peking Duck was... More

The China House is exceptional when it comes to the quality of its food, of its service and of its premises; there are very few places that can compete at this level. on top of it, it is very reasonably priced (for western standards) to the point of even exceeding our expectations: not only was the China House the place... Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
