Reviewed before and pleased that the place has survived the pandemic. Service and food remains excellent and great prices. A cooked (eggs any style+ extras) breakfast remains incredible value at 180 npr. Great coffee, selection of fruit juices and lassi drinks. However the Cafe is now starting to look very ‘tired’ and a little broken. Naturally with so little business in recent years the place has suffered. Previously it was very well frequented by the (mostly) foreign paragliding fraternity which added a lot to its character. Sadly solo paragliding is no longer allowed in Pokhara and that semi-resident community will be forced to move to pastures new. Hopefully Cafe 17 will get a well overdue refresh that will retain its French street cafe appeal. Regardless.. the staff there continue to serve travellers with excellent breakfasts and great coffee. Recommended.

Have to set the record straight since this place has gottne good reviews. Maybe it's because there are fewer tourists in town, but the croissants were very bad! Few places in town are baking fresh daily. They didn't have a coffee machine that could make freshly ground coffee, like almost every other place has in Pokhara. Sadly disappointing. Maybe if tourists return, their bakery will return. But right now, nothing French about it!

Love coming to this popular little cafe. Small menu with all the food done perfectly, including the super yummy baguettes! It’s the best value cafe in Pokhara and the service is spot-on too! Thanks guys, will see you soon 😊

They have a lot of tasty and crispy baguettes. They’re freshly baked, so sometimes it smells great! Their coffee is ok too. I didn't really enjoy the ambiance (a lot of loud paragliding instructors), but I guess that depends on when you visit. Their sweet breads are good, although the croissant was a bit small.

Their coffee is the best in Pokhara, rich, smooth, and zesty. The set breakfast is a great deal but only served until 12:00. I was late one day and disappointed to miss it so ordered the German potatoes with onions, bacon, and cheese instead (pictured). To my surprise, it was fabulous, the best thing I ate in several days stay in Pokhara. Great food, great prices. Wifi is good when they're not busy but lags on video during busy times.

Simple breakfast for under 200 rupees including: - fresh warm baguette (absolutely gorgeous, it is so hard to find nice bread in Nepal!!!) - Egg - Hash Brown potato’s (not like the standard ones you usually get. These were like sautee and warm) - Fresh coffee (no Nescafé rubbish!!!) I could not believe this deal and thought this was amazing. We found this place on last day otherwise we would have been there every morning. Small pot of fresh filter coffee is extremely cheap. Also best pain au chocolat ever tasted plus they warm it up for you!!! Will definitely be back when we come back to Nepal! Keep doing what you’re doing!

I’ve been here every day since I’ve been in Pokhara. The organic filter coffee is lovely. The baguettes are delicious and the fillings are generous and tasty. I also like that the bread tastes freshly baked and it isn’t that sweet-tasting bread you get in some establishments. Located on the main road but it’s still an undenyingly relaxing spot to watch the world go by.

By chance, this place was near our guesthouse our first day in Pokhara. We checked it out based on convenience and based on the visible bread oven and the affordable menu, we tried it. We came back for every single breakfast for nearly a week (a few days before and a few days after the ABC trek). The set breakfast is a great deal (and includes delicious fresh-baked bread), the coffee is better than the average instant coffee found at many restaurants around here, and the pastries are all delicious (our favorite was the pan-au-chocolate). Service was friendly and prompt. Oh, and it was the fastest Wifi we found in Pokhara. Gonna miss these breakfasts.

The reviews beneath are all generally spot on, except I would further stress how good the food and coffee is. Their local bean filter coffee is amazing and super cheap (I recommend getting the breakfast special to complement it). The staff are all awesome and as stated not pretentious at all. Great job guys for creating such a good atmosphere.

Don’t let appearances fool you, we walked right past the bakery as we were searching for a “French bistro look alike”, but this is a local family-owned business with wooden benches scattered on their front yard above street level. And yes, they offer free WiFi and you can see them preparing the pastries as the oven is right besides the ordering counter! First time we went there, it was around 4 pm and they were sold out on the pastries except for the apple cinnamon and the plain croissant. Second time, it was around 11 am and they had pain au chocolat, plain croissant, cinnamon roll and apple cinnamon strudel - they were already sold out on the chocolate croissant! No wonder, at $80 rupees each, these freshly baked pastries are a steal!!

Amazing place, good vibes. Me and my dad were kind of dissapointed with how pretentious and fake pokhara is in our eyes.. But not this place, it is soo relaxt, the staff is really friendly and not fake polite. And the food is soo good, finally some real sandwitches!! Loved it! Also the internet is really really fast and good. And the terrasse is amazing!
