This is the worst restaurant I have had the mispleasure of dining in in all my years of eating out. Horrific food and service. Wouldn't wish my worst enemy to have to dine here. Had the palak paneer which tasted like dirty dishwater. Complained and was told other diners have eaten it so we were wrong. Were then ignored and... More

I read all these bad reviews about Yak and can't understand them as my experiences with this restaurant were very positive. Starting from the staff, which was very helpful to us, guiding us patiently through all the unknown names of dishes in the menu. Then the food we ordered, and we kept coming to Yak everyday for dinner during all... More

Tried the hot millet beer - we won't be ordering any more but it was worth a try! Food was otherwise fairly average. Buffalo pies were tasty. Busy spot. Cosy booth seating would be good for groups.

Food lacked flavor and the service was dreary. Don't believe the hype, this place may have once been good but it has gone downhill. Better options nearby so go check them out, or risk being disappointed too.

I had visited this place a week ago and was left stunned and sickened by their awful customer service and offhand behaviour. Staff was impolite and unhelpful. I asked the guy for the wifi, he put incorrect password a few times and then told me something was wrong with my phone and left. when i asked for someone who could... More

The restaurant offers typical Nepali meals as well as meals from other traditions (Tibetan, Chinese, Indian). The food is good, but the service is a bit too slow. However, it is a good place in which to eat in the center of Thamel!

Good food and it came very quickly. Free wifi provided. They may have turned off the wifi to get us to leave.

After checking into the hotel we ventured to explore the city on foot and came across this Yak Restaurant that I had been reading about before the trip. Restaurant was quite crowded for a Sunday night, filled with tourists. We sat down to order and it was fish curry with rice and chicken masala with butter and garlic naan. Portions... More
