We had a cup of tea on the rooftop around 3pm. The cafe is laid back, next to a newly restored stupa. Just 20 m away from busy Thamel, it's quiet, the tea excellent and the dog friendly.
This surprising restaurant with garden courtyard is set back from the main street so you may not see it at first, but follow the sign and you will no longer feel you are in Thamel. There is a 5th century temple next door. The food...More
You won't beleive this place exist in middle of dense Thamel. Perfect place to relax and have exotic food. Friendly dogs greet you with Jimmy being their leader. The place to be.
Dear Samunlee Thank you so much for your positive review. Jimmy is our oldest dog. Just adopted a young male puppy. Dog count: 4! Hope to see you again in Kathmandu! Yours Kunal Lama Owner
A surprising little charming place, hidden in a side street. Went there during the post-quake loom period, was much rewarding, food quality was absolutely four star, expect high price range, but worth a treat.
It is always a pleasure to hear words of appreciation. This encourages us to be even better at what we do. Thank you, and see you again in Kathmandu!
I wrote a review just a moments ago. Compare that restaurant this one is better option and better customer service. Food was comparatively delicious. I had french wine here which test similar. Thank you for your service and good food. we come back again...........
I am so glad that you liked our food & wine. Thank you for your positive words of encouragement. Hope to see you again in Nepal!

What a fantastic space in the middle of Thamel. It looked really nice, so I decided to enter the gate and look around. December is a slow time in KTM because it is colddddd, and right now with the blockade issues it is even worse....More
Dear Glendale We look forward to seeing you in Kathmandu. Thank you your words. Ps. We have just adopted another street puppy a week ago.
The Dafe Mitra and Lounge Bar was a novel experience as we don't prefer any liquor but the restaurant serves great food and beverages that would ensure that happy hours go on and on....
Thank you for your positive and encouraging words.
Cafe Mitra is one of the few reasons to venture into Thamel, in my opinion. Kunal, the owner, is not only a wonderful chef and restauranteur, but a delightful host with a charming sense of style and a gently deprecating humor. My favorite dish is...More
