It was raining all day today (Sunday) so we skipped going to this riverside restaurant until dinner time. I was surprised at how small the seating area inside the restaurant is. There are actually 2 seating areas - one outside near the swimming pool and one inside near the bar. We sat inside because of the flies and other bugs... More

had a dinner there, but the service was lousy, the food was rather basic ( overcooked, half cold, ...)

The a la carte menu is Bamako-standard international fare - do not miss the Capitaine!! There are also weekly menus and daily specials ... we appreciated all!

The ambiance is great, just by the river with some great live music! The service is always professional and friendly at the same time. Food is average, not WOW but ok good! Never had a bad tasting wine there, one of the rare places in Bamako where I can order wine! I would definitely recommend Villa Soudan.

I liked Villa Soudan because it's a calm place in Badalabougou where you can eat and drink with your lover. The food and the service was good. What we liked the most was the lights on the swimming pool and the view of the river.

I went to the Villa Soudan for dinner before my flight out of Mali. It's hidden away (no signs out front), but the space inside is fantastic. We had live music starting at 7pmish. Our drinks were cold and the food was really good. The pizza oven wasn't ready for us as we ate a bit early, but the pasta... More

I stayed in the Villa Soudan for 17 nights. The rooms are basic but very clean and functional. Great balcony view over the river Niger. The main plus points are value for money especially in this area. The staff and security exceptional. What makes this place great is the food. Never had any bad meal. The Pizzas are the best.... Villa Soudan has a great location on the shore of the Niger River facing the lights of Bamako on the other side. The ambiance was great and the servers were attentive and prompt but for me the kitchen was the weak link. I ordered grilled gambas and found them to be a bit on the small side and very much... Come here for the views and atmosphere. The food at dinner is good, albeit slightly pricey. The breakfast, on the other hand, was quite expensive and mediocre.

This is a go-to restaurant when people are visiting Bamako, with reliably good food and a very low-key chic atmosphere. Like anywhere in Bamako, or Africa for that matter, don't dine here if you are on a tight schedule, but if you can enjoy a leisurely meal, then you'll be satisfied here.
