The restaurant is hard to find, tucked at the end of a narrow and dark alley. You are not sure, you knock on the door. What a surprise: a palace from the 16th century, soft spoken staff, rose petals smell, open sky ceiling. The food was great.

Wonderful restaurant with fine service and selection of food. The building is originally a secret house for a Moroccan prince, and hence very difficult to find (we bumped into tourists also trying to find the place). Even the exterior of the building is inconspicuous and one may question if it's open. Please do plan your route to the restaurant prior... More

Gorgeous dining room - worth it for the ambiance alone. The food was average for this type of place, but the staff were lovely. Also very good value for money.

The building is impressive. The food and the entertainment were wonderful. Service was terrific from the hostess who work hard to make sure we could find a table even though we had no reservations in a busy night and the waiter who answered all our questions always with a smile. I felt bad that I was not able to leave... More

Very enjoyable place if you are ok with low seating and a slightly disorganized wait staff. Start with sharing the mixed mezze. It's way too much for one person, but perfect for two. Mains are traditional. I went with the Tajira and didn't regret it, but you have to want meat and nothing but. Otherwise, go with one of the... More

We had a great meal, we tried the Moroccan salads to start followed by the Kelfta and Vegetarian tagines. Really delicious, couldn't manage dessert. The staff are also really pleasant, friendly and attentive. Special mention to Mary on the door for her welcoming smile... I'll definitely be back!

We turned up without a booking on a Saturday evening but the staff were nice enough to accommodate us even though we did wait slightly longer to be served. The setting is beautiful, so romantic and calming. I had the vegetation couscous and my husband had the chicken couscous and both were exceptional. It's only a simple dish you'd think... More

Yes its a little hard to find but it is worthwhile. We had our two yr old son with us who got to spend some time dancing with the waiters. The food was un believable but our only issue is they didnt bring us our drinks until after we finished eating. We did ask 4 times before we got them... More

Description
Situated in the very heart of the souks, this building is a hidden secret, only found by the discerning and curious visitor, where history is recorded in the delicate tracery of the stucco and skilfully carved wood. In the year 2000 , Marrakech Riads, a leading player in the restoration of the riads of Marrakech, brought Dar Cherifa back to life, and simultaneously unveiled a hidden treasure of the medina, the refined decor of this building recalling that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of the Saadian era (16th century) and one of the finest monuments of Marrakech. Renovated with the greatest care and attention to detail, with the participation of renowned craftsmen so as to maintain its authenticity and splendour, Dar Cherifa welcomes all visitors eager to meet new and interesting people. It is a real cultural venue, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, concerts and events. This inimitable space draws one into a meditative state of mind and heart. Everyone fortunate enough to visit this building says that they breathe an atmosphere of peace and serenity the minute they cross the threshold. The mention of Moroccan culture immediately implies Moroccan cuisine, and what more beguiling setting than this pure and refined interior for sampling a cuisine abounding in cultural exchange; a subtle blend of sweet and sour, the inheritance of Berber, Jewish and Arab-Andalucian influences. Enjoy!
