It was pouring down with rain when we visited Dar Cherifa. We sat in the Riad were it was a little chilly but upon request we got blankets and even a heater! The service was super friendly and fun! We had the harira soup (mediocre) the cherifa salad (great!!!) and the selection of morrocan salads (very good) as appetizers. Followed... More

A dinner at Dar Cherifa is a treat for all your sendes. The restaurant, which is located In a narrow alley off the beaten track, is a lovely old Riad - allegedly 500 years old and well preserved. It is absolutely stunning. The staff is extremely friendly and considerate, and last but not least the food is beyond compare: tasty,... More

Recommended by our road owners we stopped here after a busy day for a lovely cup of saffron tea. You would never believe what us behind the little door down a back alley! The interior is beautiful, there is art on display and there is a lovely roof terrace too which we didn't realise until we were leaving. Food looked... More

Deep in the Medina, its a classy old house with warm service which our local guide brought us to. Sit on the roof if you want, we preferred down below in the courtyard on the cushioned cool seats and we were made very welcome by the smart staff. Excellent beef tanjia for me and homemade couscous for my vegetarian wife.... More

Beautiful 500 year old architecture and so well preserved. Good food, the chicken pastilla was excellent. Attentive service.

Amazing food, great service! I had a soup and lamb tagine with saffron creme brulee at the end. Everything was delicious and beautifully served. Wery nice and attentive service. After nice chat with manager who was on top of everything we had a mini tour to the roof top with great spot to relax. Good job !

Went on my own because it sounded like somewhere not to miss and I wasn't disappointed. Beautifully maintained/restored C16th riad. Very attentive service and good food but the ambience, art displayed on the walls and rooftop views make this place a must see

This place was great! Great ambiance and vibe. Tough to find, but the secret makes it that much more rewarding. The Moroccan salad sampler was phenomenal! Our 2 entree tagines that followed were equally as delicious. Friendly and polite staff; definitely recommend in Marrakesh!

The restaurant is quite difficult to find but when you get there the interior is really amazing and the walls have many nice paintings. The Morrocan dishes tasted good, but I missed the opportunity to have a nice wine to it. This is, as many Morrocan restaurants, a non-alcoholic one.

I booked this restaurant to celebrate my 60th birthday, unfortunately the Manager was very poor. I actually visited the day before to check the location and intreoduced myself to the Manager, she did not seem to care or acknowledge that I had booked a table for 5 to celebrate my birthday, she kept asking if I wanted to reserve a... Description
Situated in the very heart of the souks, this building is a hidden secret, only found by the discerning and curious visitor, where history is recorded in the delicate tracery of the stucco and skilfully carved wood. In the year 2000 , Marrakech Riads, a leading player in the restoration of the riads of Marrakech, brought Dar Cherifa back to life, and simultaneously unveiled a hidden treasure of the medina, the refined decor of this building recalling that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of the Saadian era (16th century) and one of the finest monuments of Marrakech. Renovated with the greatest care and attention to detail, with the participation of renowned craftsmen so as to maintain its authenticity and splendour, Dar Cherifa welcomes all visitors eager to meet new and interesting people. It is a real cultural venue, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, concerts and events. This inimitable space draws one into a meditative state of mind and heart. Everyone fortunate enough to visit this building says that they breathe an atmosphere of peace and serenity the minute they cross the threshold. The mention of Moroccan culture immediately implies Moroccan cuisine, and what more beguiling setting than this pure and refined interior for sampling a cuisine abounding in cultural exchange; a subtle blend of sweet and sour, the inheritance of Berber, Jewish and Arab-Andalucian influences. Enjoy!
