this building is stunning and the perfect setting for a romantic and intimate meal. the food and service are exemplary and the staff very friendly. be aware that it is off the beaten track as far as finding it, but there's a guy who walks you down a very narrow alleyway and takes you to the front door and then... We got chicken, vegetables and cous cous and a lamb tagine. All was pretty bland compared to some places we had eaten for half the price. The fresh juice was delicious so recommend popping in for a drink and seeing this beautiful building.

The historic Cherifa is very hard to find, down winding alleyways twisting, turning paths, but well worth the effort. We climbed soooooo many stairs to the roof; also worth it. Lunch on the roof is wonderful ... try the ginger juice! Traditional Moroccan with the nicest service.

Dar cherifa is possibly the most beautiful place I have ever eaten. Steeped in history - with beautiful details all around The food is amazing too. Especially the seafood pastilla Go! I didn't get a chance to go during the day. But the rooftop terrace would definitely be worth a visit too.

We arrived last night at 18.00 not having booked. A chap opened the door waved us in and then it was up to us to a member of waiting staff and if we could eat. Allowing for this poor English even though I did speak French and having extracted a response, we made our way to the roof terrance. After... More

Very great place and suggestive athmosphere for this restaurant in the heart of marrakesh. The place is great, service is good. The mix of flavours proposed for the dishes gives a great experience of the morrocan cusine... Raccomended...

What an absolutely stunning place to have dinner! The courtyard is beautiful, and had a cover and a heater which meant it was much warmer than most riads. We didn't make a reservation but were very lucky that a table became available quite quickly, so if you want to eat here around 7-8pm you might want to book in advance.... More

This was our favorite restaurant in Marrakech. There is no alcohol on the menu, so we decided to go there for lunch. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and decor was beautiful, and very relaxing. We drank delicious tea, and had vegetable tagine and couscous. It was outstanding, and was by far, the best we had in Morocco.... More

We found this gem with google maps - you have to ring the doorbell to enter. We arrived at 7pm and were the first people there, but it started to fill up later on. The building is spectacular - walk up to the roof terrace if you have time. We had juice, lamb tagine, vegetable cous cous, ginger chicken and... More

This is not an easy place to find. Along the Western side of the Mouassine Mosque there is an alleyway between two buildings. There is a banner across the entrance of the alley naming some of the Riads down there, including Dar Cherifa. Follow the alley round and take the first turn on the Right, under a building built over... More

Description
Situated in the very heart of the souks, this building is a hidden secret, only found by the discerning and curious visitor, where history is recorded in the delicate tracery of the stucco and skilfully carved wood. In the year 2000 , Marrakech Riads, a leading player in the restoration of the riads of Marrakech, brought Dar Cherifa back to life, and simultaneously unveiled a hidden treasure of the medina, the refined decor of this building recalling that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of the Saadian era (16th century) and one of the finest monuments of Marrakech. Renovated with the greatest care and attention to detail, with the participation of renowned craftsmen so as to maintain its authenticity and splendour, Dar Cherifa welcomes all visitors eager to meet new and interesting people. It is a real cultural venue, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, concerts and events. This inimitable space draws one into a meditative state of mind and heart. Everyone fortunate enough to visit this building says that they breathe an atmosphere of peace and serenity the minute they cross the threshold. The mention of Moroccan culture immediately implies Moroccan cuisine, and what more beguiling setting than this pure and refined interior for sampling a cuisine abounding in cultural exchange; a subtle blend of sweet and sour, the inheritance of Berber, Jewish and Arab-Andalucian influences. Enjoy!
