Like many palaces that punctuate the medina, this architectural wonder is reached via a maze of dark alleyways and looks like nothing much from the outside. But, once inside, the splendor of this magnificent palace is clearly evident. The fountain court was set with tables...More

It's absolutely stunning in its playfully modern style. The Palais Gharnata entrance is grand and opulent whereas the lounge and spa had a more modern minimalistic feel to it. The pool area is huge with ample space and lounging options and the spa is gorgeous,...More

The Palais Gharnata is an old Moroccan palace, extremely exotic arabic with coves, gardens and chambers that give a special feeling when you enter and while you dine. I had been earlier to a reception at the invitation of delegates for COP22, so I knew...More

Description
Set in an ancient alleyway dating in Marrakechs Jewish quarter, Palais Gharnata restaurant possesses a rarefied luxury that comes only with the passing of time. Everything here speaks of grand antiquity, of North African exoticism and beauty. Handcarved cedar woodwork, ornate sculpture and carvings, handsome waiters dressed in loose white cotton, trays elegantly poised above their right shoulder its a magical world. A formal dining space, Palais Gharnat specialises is Morroccan cuisine. Begin perhaps, with a pastilla of tender pigeon and crushed almonds in a soft aromatic dough, as a bottle of fine local vintage is opened, and the aroma of spiced lamb curls up inside your nose. The best tables are on the mezzanine, overlooking the set-piece central fountain.
