You will not find Restaurant Dar Hatim unless you know it is there. This is the private home of a charming family who look after you wonderfully and help you unwind after the intensity of the medina.

We called to make a booking and they sent a staff member, Fuad, who came to pick us up from the square in the Medina (I think we would have been lost otherwise). The restaurant is a family home, and meals are cooked by the lady of the house and her in-laws. Beautifully decorated from the carpets on the wall,... More

We read about Dar Hatim from a guidebook but turns out it's quite popular and well known around Fes. The owner will come pick you up from your hotel so it's started with great service and efficiency. The meal was wonderful and service attentive... best part was the delicious chicken pastilla which we bought another to go for breakfast the... More

This is an excellent family restaurant in the Medina...not easy to find but well worth while if you can get there. If you call them, tghey will send some one around to your Riad to guide you to the restaurant. Food is all home cooked by the owners mother and wife, traditional style food, chickens, targine, vegetarian food, etc. Restaurant... More

Wander the small alleyways of the medina and find a small door to Dar Hatim...its worth the effort. Enter into their home and hospitality, enjoy the home cooking. Our chicken pie was the best we ate in Morocco!

Our experience was amazing from start to finish. From being picked up from our riad to the homely service we received, it was absolutely fabulous. The food is outstanding - by far the best meal we had in Morocco. A truly authentic experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is as close as you'll come to being invited to a family home for an elaborate dinner party in Fes. The traditional home is gorgeous, with high decorated ceilings and beautiful decor. It's BYO wine, and the food is lovingly prepared by the women in the family -- do try the lamb tagine or the chicken pastilla. If you... More

I really enjoyed Moroccan Food, in particular tangine recommended by Restaurant Dar hatim. You cannot beat the taste of good home cooked food in a family run restaurant Amazing tastes and special surroundings. Visited on Peregrine Moroccan trip Hint: book early, ask the staff for help when ordering meals.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Dar Hatim experience, which involves eating in a family home of three generations' standing. The 'salon' felt a little more restaurant-like than we were expecting, but the overall 'vibe' was definitely domestic. The (warm) Moroccan salads were all very tasty, as were the olives and the little aubergine 'tempura' that we were given between courses. The... More

The best restaurant I have been in Morocco. Home made local food in a traditional house of Fez. It's worth every single penny you spent. Not to be missed when you visit Fez. Karim, the owner, is the best hostess ever!
